Johnson & Johnson is an American multinational company with headquarters in New Brunswick, the United States of America. With more than 124, 744 employees worldwide, the company commands a desirable position among other organizations in the global diversity inclusion list of 2017. According to Diversity Inc. (2017), Johnson & Johnson was ranked eighth position as the most diverse and inclusive company worldwide. Such a position is not only desirable, but at the same time, it reflects the efforts and activities carried out by Johnson & Johnson in its diversification and inclusion departments to address the issues of employees from different cultures, backgrounds, and racial background. In a similar case, the company’s vision statements reflect its contribution to inclusion and diversity in the workplace as it encourages and motivates individuals from various backgrounds to expand their experiences and skills to create a better, healthier world.
Based on the key results provided by the Diversity Inc. (2017), Johnson & Johnson statements regarding the inclusion of diverse groups in the company are significantly practiced in the organization. First and foremost, it is indicated that the company has a 384% inclusion rate of people from diverse groups in its Board of Directors, particularly, the Latinos, Blacks, and Asians. In this case, it signals the company’s commitment to including individuals from diverse groups even at their top management level.

In comparison to other international companies such as Apple Inc., Johnson & Johnson has moved a step further to ensure that their inclusion objectives aren’t just mere statements without actions, but rather they are wholly actualized and implemented in the company’s operations and the top management level. Additionally, being amongst the top fifty companies in the diversification and inclusion globally, Johnson & Johnson has an elaborate and comprehensive equal employment opportunities and affirmative action towards recruitment, motivation, and training of employees from diverse groups which include but are not limited to, Blacks, Asians, and Latinos. Besides a significant level of inclusivity in the company’s top management, it has also developed key policies which are in line with the organization’s objectives regarding the inclusion of individuals from diverse groups. From the key results listed by the Diversity Inc., (2017), Johnson & Johnson is ranked among the top ten companies in mentoring participation activities for the diverse workers with a 39.3 percent more than the other companies in this category. Also, Resource Group employees in Johnson & Johnson account for 17.2 percent more than any other firm in the top ten categories (Diversity Inc., 2017). In this case, the company’s success in diversity and employee inclusion is not only appealing at the local level, but also it’s widely noticeable at the global level. From cross-cultural, cross-region, cross-generation, cross-gender, cross-segment and cross-functional strategic mentoring practices, the company has proved to be one of the leading firms that significantly promote inclusivity and diversification in the workplace. Rather than just creating values for the diverse employees, Johnson & Johnson had revealed the means of proper delivery of such values in the working place.
