Divorce
Unlike other animals, human beings are naturally social. In many cases, human beings interact in a very special way. Moreover, their level of socialization is advanced, driving them to the highest point of a relationship that results in marriage. Notably, lasting relationship that arises from mutual love and understanding is the chief aim of marriages. Here, individuals would want to live a complete life that makes them compatible. Despite the intent for lifetime relationships, marriages come with challenges that might result in divorce. Observably, marriage challenges that can be overcome sustain the relationship while those that cannot be overcome calls for divorce as the most logical solution. Therefore, the argumentative essay evaluates the legal procedures, causes, advantages and setbacks that surround divorce.
According to Wong (2016), divorce laws vary from country to country. In other words, the legal structure of a country determines the right channel and procedure for divorce. Even though divorce laws vary considerably around the world, court sanctions or legal authority directs many divorce procedures. Notably, either of the two aid smooth transition among couples who intend to separate. For instance, they would initialize child custody, spousal support, parenting time, child access, and division of debt as well as the distribution of property.
Various factors cause divorces. Arguably, the difference in background is one of the causes of divorce.

Indeed, most marriages fail to last because some couples hook instantly without pondering on their backgrounds. Such couples end up in divorce because they overlook their difference. Even if such couples intended for lasting relations, failure to consider economic, family, cultural and religious beliefs cause discomfort that ends in divorce (Wong, 2016).
Marital infidelity causes discomfort and family breakups (Crouch and Dickes, 2016). Studies point that nearly 41% of couples engage in some form of emotional or physical infidelity. Besides, it is believed that infidelity is common and evenly split between both genders. Even though cheating among the married is wrong, it should not be judged at face value. Moreover, it should be viewed deeply because it signifies that something is wrong and needs to be fixed (Wong, 2016).
Communication breakdown leads to divorce. Over time, couples may involve in caustic communication. Some partners engage in such actions as a way of correcting their mates. Irrespective of their intention, such actions are challenging because they result in toxic patterns that if not carefully watched my make one partner withdraw from any form of meaningful conversation (Wong, 2016). To such extent, negative patterns that emanate during disagreements, forcing one partner to retreat may cause communication breakdown and divorce.
Divorce also emanates from money and financial issues. Despite the fact that socialization puts couples on the same side, financial inequality creates incompatibility that puts partners on the opposite side. No matter the period of relationships, it is observed that strong disagreements about saving, spending and general financial decision-making are capable of breaking families (Crouch and Dickes, 2016).
Like other social problems, divorce comes with merits and drawbacks. In fact, divorce affects the whole family, ranging from the couples to their children. Arguably, splitting up of parents may be advantageous to children in some ways. According to Gustavsen, Nayga, Rodolfo and Wu (2016), children who have experienced divorce mature earlier and develop a sense of responsibility at a younger age. For instance, when a father moves out of the family, leaving a mother and a son, the son may resolve in taking his father’s responsibility. Such trend will give the child a sense of responsibility that triggers early maturity as compared with his age mates. Besides, it appears dangerous for children to remain in a family where parents fight and quarrel daily. Therefore, dispensing with such relations works to the advantage of children.
Divorced persons are associated with higher level of autonomy and personal growth as compared with the married couples. Given the stressful events that follow divorce, the divorced persons strive to become self-sufficient as a way of coping with the pressure of life. To such extent, they develop personal skills that drive them towards a better life that benefit themselves as well as their children (Wong, 2016).
Despite the advantages realized from divorce, it negatively affects children. Even though children are supposed to remain neutral on their parental issues, teenagers who know what is going on are unable to do that. Unlike toddlers, teenagers will feel pressure to side with one of the parents. Besides, those who have lived to witness the divorce will have psychological problems with marriage. Additionally, divorce is dangerous because it may make other children develop depression and other psychological problem (Gustavsen, Nayga, Rodolfo and Wu, 2016).
Like children, adults may be negatively affected by divorce. Psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, and unhappiness result from divorce (Wong, 2016). Therefore, despite revelations that divorce relieves one from stressful relations, it is observed that parting from an individual that one has been used to is not an easy task because it makes one develop a negative psychological balance that damages individual’s well-being.
In sum, the social nature of human beings influences their ability to have partners. To such extent, human beings acquire partners through marriage. A lasting relationship is the chief aim of many marriages. However, marriage comes with challenges that can be solved to sustain it and those that can only be squared through a divorce. As discussed, the legal framework of a country determines the direction of divorce. Besides, divorce is associated with merits and demerits that must be considered before involving into such actions.
