Effect of Economics and Evidence-Based Practices on Nursing Practices
America spends approximately 2.5 times more on health care than all other developed nations (Salmond & Echevarria, 2017). The amount of money spent on health care in most countries, like Canada and Germany, is a driving factor for change in regards to specific practices by nurse practitioners. They should strive to deliver quality care while ensuring minimal costs in the process. Nurses should collaborate with other health professionals to achieve patient-centered care while working to promote the prevention of various complications while implementing evidence-based practices (EBP) that will ensure these high-quality outcomes.
Ongoing coordination among a variety of medical professionals and nurse practitioners is essential to providing better services while maintaining lower costs per unit of service (Salmond & Echevarria, 2017). Nurses should provide continued care depending on the trajectory of the illness and use their skills regarding patient advocacy to solve complex issues. In doing so, they will avoid the notion of discharging patients and focus on helping them transition to the next level in their condition. In Germany, many nurses have shifted from a care system that deals with illnesses to a system that advocates for prevention care since 1999. They decide on which measures to take to ensure wellness and prevent further complications from a medical procedure, for instance, surgeries.

Wait! Effect of Economics and EBP on Nursing Practices paper is just an example!

One-quarter of nurses all over the world continually report the intent to quit because of job dissatisfaction (Wilson et al., 2015). Providing opportunities for nurses to advance their knowledge is an essential ingredient in increasing job satisfaction for nurses which helps promote quality care for the patients. However, some factors like budgetary restrictions may limit these efforts. Nevertheless, nurse practitioners should strive to broaden their research process to learn about EBP. They may draw from their experiences or read medical publications to know about various EBP behavior. In Finland, for instance, nurses participate in research projects to advance their EBP readiness and be able to specialize in particular aspects of care (Saunders & Vehviläinen‐Julkunen, 2017). In turn, this leads to lower mortality rates and fewer instances of failure to prevent deterioration or disability in patients under their supervision.
In summary, the amount of funds spent on health care affects nursing practices. Nurses need to coordinate with other health professionals to provide exceptional care while reducing the cost of health care. They should give constant attention to the patient and implement measures to avoid further complications. To achieve this, nurses should employ EBP in their activities. They can get information regarding EBP from research projects or particular publications.
