Equality and Diversity
It is the responsibility of all working in an educational institution to ensure that the rights of children are protected. Therefore, as a teaching assistant, it is imperative to analyze individual attitudes, values, and actions and contemplate how they may affect one’s ability to work with young people. People exhibit diverse attitudes, values, and behaviors. When working with children, one has to understand that they emulate actions and values that they see in grownups and therefore one has to be careful when dealing with children.
As already noted, children imitate and emulate the actions of adults. They are likely to behave, talk, and develop attitudes similar to those around them or those of the people they perceived as role models (Miller 177). It should be mentioned that teachers must ensure that young people develop good values and behaviors. Teaching them the importance of good values goes a long way in shaping how they behave and helps them discern between right and wrong.
It is also important to treat all the kids equally irrespective of race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or capabilities and lead by example. For instance, if a teacher attests to a discriminatory case, it is important to explain that it is wrong and unacceptable to display such behaviors. By doing so, pupils learn that discrimination is wrong and should not be tolerated. This molds them in the proper manner and instills good behaviors, values, and attitudes that reflect in how they treat their classmates and how they interact with others.

Wait! Equality and Diversity paper is just an example!

Overall, when working with children in a school setting, one has to be vigilant with their words and actions because the young ones are likely to imitate them (Miller 177). One has always to portray good actions that impact positively on the kids’ values, attitudes, and behaviors, which also helps them develop good values and builds their understanding of the expected norms and behaviors.
