Abstract
The community is crucial in any profession; hence for the psychologists, it is also important to factor in the societal wellbeing. This would mean that the professionals are patient-centered and not only concerned with the financial gain from the services they offer. The people receiving these services should be able to trust and rely on the psychologists for a better mental health. If the contrary happens the professionals will lose patient trust and will be viewed as incompetent and unnecessary part of the community. One of the major challenges in the practice is ethics and compliance risk. However, this issue can be resolved by carrying out an assessment of needs and resources, creating a solid foundation, inculcating integrity, being value driven and constant assessment and evaluation. Incorporating the five steps mentioned aims at lowering the cases of ethics and compliance risk witnessed among psychologists. Reducing ethics and compliance risk among psychologists is a guarantee to the wellbeing of the community.

Ethics Protecting the Community
Psychologists like other professionals are faced with the issue of ethics and compliance risk. By definition, these are the legal penalties that a professional might face due to failure to adhere to the set code of conduct in that particular set up (Patetta, Cortucci & Gill, 2017). Dealing with a group of mentally challenged individuals poses a challenge and often most psychologists get overwhelmed by their empathy for the patient and end up overlooking their ethical and compliance guides.

Wait! Ethics protecting the community paper is just an example!

To ensure that the community benefits from the psychologists there is a need to reduce ethics and compliance risk. This strategy has been deemed impossible; however, by focusing on the right aspects the gap can be filled.
According to Carroll et al., (2016) there are five key issues that would need to be addressed if ethics and compliance risk are to be resolved. Firstly, a professional will need to assess his or her needs and resources to identify the most relevant ones. The second step will entail establishing a strong foundation such as winning client confidence. Thirdly, creating an environment where integrity is paramount would also win client trust. The fourth point is adding value to a patient’s life whether little or big. Lastly, all the four issues discussed above should often be revised and evaluated to allow for necessary changes to be made.
The current society comprises a large number of individuals with mental problems. As a result, there is a need for psychological services. This poses as an economic boom for the profession; hence, the likelihood of compliance risk is high. To ensure that patients are not exploited the focus should be on reducing these risks. A society where the ethics and compliance risks are lowered reflects positively on the wellbeing of the patients. The quality of service would be improved as it will be patient-centered.
