There are different types of studies which have been done in efforts to find out the human development of the brain. It is due to these many types of research that scientists have noticed that the IQ of someone can be affected by various elements. However, these research types have at one point or the other contradicted each other. The first research where the things affecting the IQ were tested involved the use of twins (Cardwell, Clark, & Meldrum, 2000). The results which were seen from the many types of research showed that genetics had significant impacts on the IQ of a person as compared to the environmental conditions. However, another research carried out by Segal showed a tiny correlation in the children’s IQs. Dissimilarity in gender also has a significant impact in the IQ quotient between the two gender groups. Therefore, people of different a gender cannot have the same IQ.
Factors affecting IQ’s development
Despite the term intelligence having many definitions, it means the dissimilarities in the capability to get information, to reason and thinks well, and to sufficiently and successfully handle the environment (Cardwell, Clark, & Meldrum, 2000). Some intelligence aspects can be measured whereby they are tested by the tests responsible for measuring human intelligence. It is significant to note that only some aspects of intelligence can be measured by these tests. There even other claims which suggest that these tests do not measure intelligence level but only intellectual level.

In this article, I am going to talk about the development of IQ in humans.
While trying to test these developments in the human IQ, twins were used. There were those who were brought up together and those who were brought up in a different environment. After measuring their IQs, they were compared, and the result showed a correlation of 0.77 for those brought up in a dissimilar environment and 0.76 for those brought out in a similar environment. According to this study, genetics determines the intelligence of a person. On the other hand, Kamin (1977) criticizes this idea where he says that the sample used by Shield was too small. There are other research types which have come up with the findings that intelligence levels are more affected by genetic factors than environmental factors. Familial studies have also been conducted where people with similar genes are used in the place of twins, and their results have shown support of Shields research. There is, however, other studies which have been recently carried out including that of Segal, where she used siblings of similar ages, brought together in the same environment since their birth. Her findings showed that the correlation between the IQs of these children was 0.17. According to the finding, the IQ of a person is mostly affected by the genetic theory and not allotment of experience.
Gender dissimilarity is an area of significant interest when it comes to differentiation of the brain. Talking about gender difference that is biologically based has been a wrong practice politically for many years. It was until recent when the research was done and helped in the fleshing out of the gender differences that are biologically based. According to many types of research, differences in the biological factors cause variations in the way the brain functions. It is argued that the brain of a human being was primarily made to solve problems (Kamin, 1977). To increase the ability of the brain to function, one needs to practice workouts for a maximum of about two hours. Meeting challenging tasks helps the brain to develop further hence it can get the ability to solve harder issues. Every group of children can gain from the activities and programs which have been put in place to develop thinking skills. Such activities should be encouraged by parents to enable children develop their brain instead of staying at home which could be environments that are stressful or non-economic.
The mentioned topics are significant to me since they have educated me on important issues which concern the functioning of the brain and the IQs. Knowing such important information can assist me, or any other person has an answer to why their child’s IQ is at a particular. Such information can also affect me; For instance, it would show me the right place to set up my homestead, so that the IQ of my siblings is not negatively impacted by an adverse environment.
