By way of introduction, in my opinion the film was very realistic since it presents us without “caps” or sensing what is the life of someone who does not have well established their goals, who does not know what he wants and does not know who he is. In the beginning it may not have understood the film or the function of each of the characters in it, but what was clear was the kind of life that the characters carried taking into account that it is not really his own, thenThey live under the dependence of drugs and everything they make revolves around them. Although each of the characters surrounding the protagonist Mark Renton have a different story and function, I see them as a dough that does not flow along with the protagonist, drags him into an easier life, without responsibilities, without the need to go towork, without owner or boss to whom to obey, without income to pay, etc.

As previously analyzed, emotional intelligence involves many elements and one of them is social skill and leadership capacity. Clearly in the movie none of the characters: Sick Boy, Begbie, Tommy, Spud and Mark have it. Although Begbie is the oldest of them but also the most violent, he is not able to control his emotions and is antisocial since all those who are with him do it for fear because he is really violent to the point of killingtosomeone. There is a part in which Begbie hurts a person by pulling a glass glass from a second floor, this shows that he has no awareness of the consequences of his actions and always believes that what he does is fine, the leader believes but he isfar from being.

Mark does not allow himself to submit so easily but whoever is one of his friends leads him to respect him as others do.

Another of the elements of emotional intelligence is motivation. This factor is presented in the characters such as money, but in Sick Boy this is more noticeable. He has no goals or objectives and all he does is find money in the easiest way possible. He is characterized in history as the one who has contacts with the mafia, which traffic with drugs and thus earns money only to satisfy his need for heroin consumption. We could not consider the money itself as a motivation because a single trigger a series of actions that seek to achieve proposed goals, and even Sick Boy the only objective is pleasure.

A very important element within emotional intelligence is self-knowledge. None of the characters have it or maybe it has it very little developed, because they do not know who they are, what they like, what they want to do in the future. "Spud, for example, is very innocent and does not have your own will, follows others to follow them, and it has neither autonomy or self – esteem, key elements to know yourself, it does not even seem that the drug was its greatest ambition.

Emotions are not far behind because let’s talk about intelligences. Here we have Tommy who depends a lot on his girlfriend because when Tommy cuts him, he cannot control himself and is tied to drugs as a form of comfort;This leaves him out of reality, he gets uncontrolled emotionally to the point that he only lives to inject heroin. His life sadly ends, this shows us one of those cruel realities of what it is to live under drug effect.
