The delivered functionality is identical to the proposed functionality. The device assists in the regular distribution of water with the assistance of soil moisture detectors that identify the water content in the soil and decide which areas require adequate watering. This system keeps optimum water levels in the plants by providing just the amount necessary. Once the ground reaches the needed moisture level, the sensors send signals, and the pump shuts off and prevents excessive water loss especially through saturation. The moisture sense remains in constant function detecting changes in the water content available in the soil, and once the ground dries up, it automatically sends signals to the water pump alerting it to activate. The project is ideal to implement in rural areas and other lands where moisture level is low. In addition, the operating software ensures that the device is running smoothly with minimal human interaction.
Success for the Project
The determinant for the overall success of the project lays on functions of the hardware and software systems of the pump. In this scenario, water sensor, pump, and software parts are good. The microcontroller forms the brain of the pump, mediates the flow of information, and decides when to take action. Signals from the moisture sensors inform the microcontroller when to activate and deactivate the water pump. The sensor for the water reservoir sends information on when to shut down the whole operation when the water level in the water tank goes down below required level and calls for human input to refill the tank.

Once the water reservoir is refilled, the cycle of detecting moisture, turning on the pump and off when moisture level required is reached, continues. The significance of the pump is that it shuts off pump use when the water level is low in the reservoir, thus preventing energy loss.
