Introduction
Gangsta rap is a popular class of music and a variation of hip hop. This style of music is very popular and common with young African Americans. The rap is gaining popularity all around the world, and the lyrics of gangsta rap are often violent and offensive, telling the story of urban street thugs. Gangsta rap a class of the hip hop type of music (Hagedom, 2008). It is believed to have emerged in the 1980S Taking the world by storm and making firm its roots across the universe. This class of Music advanced into a structure spearheaded in a distinct form in the 1980s. The renowned world rappers like Schools together with Ice-T were among the pioneers of this subgenre of music. It was believed that this class of music has a “gangster” kind of lifestyle (Low, 2011). As time progressed from the ancient times when Gangsta rap popped out, it became among the well known and highly regarded class of hip hop music.
Many rappers pride themselves in the mention of the streets that initially harbored gangs as part of the symbolism of the genre. They mention blood among other crimes, and they do a lot of this crimes oriented type of music. Those who do not take a keen interest in it may think that crime is praised by the Gangsta rap (Hagedom, 2008). In spite of the fact that it is allowed under the first alteration, rap music is exceedingly hostile and it ought not to be advanced in standard society.

It advances negative racial generalizations, and it advocates externalization of and brutality against ladies. Additionally, it’s bad music. Nobody in their right personality would listen to rap music with as vulgar content as heard in most of the music (Hagedom, 2008).
There has been a stream of controversies in the industry as long as the subgenre is concerned. There has arisen criticism from all sort of sectors and people across the universe ranging from religious personnel to drug dealers (Low, 2011). Gangsta rap is associated with a lot of evil in the society. Its praises and high regards to murder, profanity, and even vandalism leaves a lot to be desired. One other thing is citing the death of Davidson by the gangsta rapper. Howard shot and murdered Davidson with a nine millimeter Glock gun, while this criminal rap, likewise looking at executing cops with nine millimeter Glock guns was playing in his vehicle. Under such situation, it is hard to imagine that the music playing in the vehicle had no impact on the circumstance (Hagedom, 2008). In any event, the Davidson family thought it did. The repulsion was because it was peeling back the mask on the poor behavior and crimes that were taking place in the America and its culture. The rap started as a mere hip- hop class but has come out strong of late to unravel a great deal of critical happenings in the politics of America. The latter is evident owing to the likes of President Clinton of the United States of America was not ready to tackle problems faced by the then crime attacked city. The music, therefore, made him uncomfortable because of the open exposure of the crime culture.
On the other hand, in his movie ‘Bamboozled’, the man known as Spike Lee returns criticism by saying that the undifferentiated rap forms to the blacks. That it was all a black thing meant to ruin the ‘good’ name of the America (Hagedom, 2008). He further alleged that the rappers were full of themselves and very ignorant just for the sake of promoting the entertainment industry while they remain uncultured. The African American rappers always had to defend themselves by saying they were singing the reality in the city life and not out to tarnish any names. The people perceive the gangsta rappers as being hardcore in life when matched with the other subgenres of the same genre, hip hop. Among the tracks produced which left a lot of desire are, ‘Police brutality’ that in a way seemed geared towards unearthing the brutality with which the police handled citizens in the America. It, therefore, means that the rap should be discouraged among the youth for it brings about a division between the youth and the elderly, especially women (Steinberg, Kheler & Cornish, 2010).
One thing that can’t go unmentioned is that the gangsta music rubbed others the wrong way. The music talking about crimes, suffering, and brutality among other vices in the society was a huge salvation to very many sufferers in the cities. Telling the stories of the injustices that took place in the society was one turning point to airing the grievances of the oppressed with no voice in such societies. In fact, the rap unearthed the dirt and the evil that was creeping into the African American hoods (Rabaka, 2012). The rappers never feared and had their voice all over as their music captured a great audience. They knew they were right and would never have been silenced by the angry soothsayers. The situation, therefore, remains a win-win situation depending on who was on the receiving end and who the analyst was. It could be justified that gangsta rap is not as viewed by the critics. ‘Fuck tha police’ was also a song that was meant to raise violence against the police song by Ice-T. The song in a way is unacceptable. If the youth keeps listening to such, then it’s obvious that they would never be law abiding citizens (Rabaka, 2012). There have always been reliable sources who have argued that gangsta rap originated from the West Coast. In spite of there having been a great deal of contributions from the people of the East Coast, for instance, the Boogie Down that contributed towards the shaping this class of hip hop. Later on N.W.A, a great rapper also took the industry by storm when he promoted the class by releasing a single socio-political album (Utley, 2012). The song was meant to point out that the political vehicle was supposed to give a hearing to the youth in the city. Besides, the leaders were to know the predicament and the exasperation the city youth were going through. It was the commencement of the 1990s when the members of the Ice Cube were carrying the day in the rap industry. At this time when Ice Cube launched the second album, there was a ground an overall ceremony for them (Rabaka, 2012). The album made its way to the pop charts and billboards.
Many rappers who were the pioneers of the subgenre are never pleased with the way the way the modern rappers are doing the gangsta rap. The current artist is said to concentrate so much on their portrait instead of the information dissipated to their audience. Gangsta rappers of recent have been mocked to have culturally stereotyped their aspect and styles of delivery to their audience (Utley, 2012). Some verbal and renowned critics have it that the gangsta rap welcomes and seems to be at peace with rape, violence and mistreatment of the woman in the society. They talk dirty about the woman, and this seems to push the young people behind time. American capitalism system has a hand in the deviating genre of the hip hop music (Utley, 2012). Of late hip hop has been seen to be among the most violent genre of music in connection with another genre. This means that there is a big problem that needs to be addressed especially to redeem the image of the females that had been damaged by the utterances and the stereotypes peddled by the gangsta rappers.
