Gender roles between men and women

For centuries ago, gender roles have created different expectations between men and women. These expectations or stereotypes created over the years have marked and established what are the differences regarding how to be, how to feel, how to think and how to act before society. An example of gender role can be shown in reading the response to Sor Filotea de la Cruz. The fragment written by Sr. Juana Inés de la Cruz is as follows, "I see so many and so distinguished women […] to a Milesia Aspasia who taught philosophy and rhetoric and was a teacher of the pericles philosopher" (14) (14) (14) (. This fragment deconstructs gender roles because it mentions different types of work done by women, which society at that time assigned only men or who were under the orders of a man.

Like the study was not for women, the works were also assigned between men and women. The women did not have the great opportunities that men had and the only work they could do was home. They were assigned only to work in the kitchen, sewing or cleaning of the home. Reading clearly shows the criticism and deconstruction of these gender roles. It gives us several examples that not only Sor Juana could do important things without having to be in command of a man, but also a large number of independent women mentioned in his book.

Also, reading gives us comparisons between women and their parents and husbands. Women who could achieve and do incredible things like being teachers, writers, prophets and inventors.

Wait! Gender Roles Between Men And Women paper is just an example!

As much as the ancient society thought that women were inept and wise men, Sor Juana teaches a "feminist" side in their reading, despite the fact that in that century that term did not exist. It shows that women can also have the same intelligence, skills and abilities to be important in life.

Gender roles are increasingly decreased today and more equality is created between men and women. More and more women can be seen working in engineer or construction and more men working in the kitchen or children. Sor Juana shows us in her reading response to Sor Filotea de la Cruz that from centuries women have wanted to use for themselves without having to depend on a man to excel.
