Facts Relating to the Problem Statement
An acquisition of firms such as YouTube and Android has positioned Google on the point of dominance. This, coupled with the development of search optimizers, is an effort to take hold of different facets of the information world. According Edelman and Eisenmann (24) AdSense and Froogle developed by Google were a means of maximizing their advertisement revenue by offering a superior model for their clients. Also, Google Maps offered a better browsing experience than what the competition had. In the wake of the highly competitive business world, the heart of any business success lies in the business marketing and advertising. Almost every aspect of business success today depends on successful marketing. The umbrella of advertising involves public relations, advertising, sales, and promotions. Today with online marketing blooming businesses are leveraging on technology to introduce and promote products to target potential customers.
Despite the fact that quality of product matters in the marketplace without advertising, potential customers are not likely to know the existence of products. Marketing help business to get the word out the creating product or service awareness.

Wait! Google inc paper is just an example!

Using marketing and especially online marketing will always provide business with a competitive advantage as such business reaches numerous potential customers. Effective marketing strategies increase sales and thus profitability. With increased profit means more customers and thus creating good reputation by fulfilling the expectation of customers as effective marketing provide communication between the business and the community, and therefore business produces products and services that meet the need of their customers. Customers’ needs are identified through market research with online marketing market research has become easier than ever before as customers can provide feedback through comments. These are some of the strategic business ventures placing Google steps closer to its mission.
However, companies such as Microsoft and Amazon are on their missions. Their quest for a better online rendition of services means Google has to constantly keep building. Also, a company like Hulu offering video streaming options is assuming a competitive stance. Another of these emergent threats is Facebook. Its presence in communications and hosting is proving to be an alternative option for Google’s clientele base. The removal of Google Maps from the iOS 6 by Apple Inc. was in itself a move of aggressiveness. That is, it is a statement that Google’s mission is not without blockades. Topping it all are the legal requirements regarding data privacy and fair play. The regulatory measures, though binding, act as hurdles for Google.

Of the different ways to deal with the problem, the following three take precedence:
• Acquisition and mergers
• Innovations
• Inter-government Partnerships and Civic Education
Acquisition and Mergers
In the technology sphere, a much-needed product may be solely owned by another. Copyright laws additionally offer protection to the individual or firm. In the case where Google needs the utility of a similar technology, the protective barrier can only be broken through licensing. On the other hand, the company may acquire such a firm. This makes it possible for future use of the firm’s products without fear of litigation or ownership limits. It also opens up another revenue stream in the case where the other firm was business driven. In other cases, a merger may prove necessary. This is in a case the company would like to carry out its mission expansively but has inadequate resource. This would be a quid pro quo arrangement for Google.
However, this would prove counter-productive in some cases. It is especially so when there are firms willing to bring down Google due to its competitive nature. Such a firm’s merger would then be a ploy to undermine Google thus threatening its life. Again, some firm may be used as tools by the competition to plant organization cultures destructive to Google’s own. This would break down the culturally driven productivity of the company.
Innovations
Any growth of the company relies solely on the kind of technology in use. This is a precedent set by Google from its startup stage to its current position. From the founders’ development of efficient search algorithms, Google has seen itself involved in cutting-edge technology in various spheres. At present, the company is involved in self-driven vehicles. Such innovation, though not always viable, do have a promising prospect in the long term. As a business, having a grip on it would mean Google is the undoubted tech leader.

However, innovations are expensive. This is because there is involved use of resources, monetary or otherwise, without necessarily requiring a return. Some of these are mere experiments that may never get to the production stage. Again, though the technology developed would be vital, the capacity of the consumers to both understand and appreciate it could be minimal. This in itself would render such a product useless until its time is right.

Inter-government Partnerships and Civic Education
Public concern over privacy has proven itself to be a major legal issue for the company. This in itself is a call for the company to seek out the stronger link with regulatory agencies in a bit to fan out any aspects of its business negative to its perception. That is, having liaisons with them when it is formulating its company policies and vice versa. This will minimize the sudden occurrence of privacy concerns due to overbooking on the side of Google. On the other hand, Google will be in a position to lobby for policies that are inclusive of its business strategies. In this regard, the company will be abreast of any threat to its operations and due to its proximity will be better poised to shift accordingly. Still, the company could take up for itself a civic duty of education of education the public on its business aspects. This will be a milestone in clearing the air on any perceived negativity. It will be a means of showing the public the current state of technology and the legal and practical limits to data access. Such might save the company on litigation fee.

However, opening up to external agencies might create a bureaucratic structure. This has an eventual effect of paralyzing operations. Again, it is in itself a bottleneck because the external influence may not be as open to the Google culture as expected. This would mean their prejudices and any efforts would curtail development. Still, the company’s presence in external agencies may prove ruinous. This is because a case of willfulness in criminal or civil litigation may be argued.
Decision
Innovation is the way for Google. This is clear in that most of all that it is attempting to do need advanced technology or is beyond the existing technology. Searching the market for such would prove futile. Besides, any form owning such tech would price it restrictively because of the financial nature of Google. Again, copyright laws do additionally offer protection to the individual or firm. Building its platforms thus is the viable alternative. It will help, maintain the company’s competitive edge as well as ensure its superiority. Also, Google’s entry into new businesses such as Gmail has proven to be strategic engagements. This is so since these investments have ended up being superior alternatives and thus making Google more relevant. Again, lawsuits by governments and other agencies tend to be caps on its conduction of business. Without creating other ways of achieving the desires plans, Google would gently creep into irrelevance. However, innovation enables the company to seek out better means both legally binding and effective. For an innovation policy to work, there is need to access to up-to-date information on various fields of interest. This is in a bid to provide necessary backgrounds for research and analysis which are the core for innovativeness.

Implementation and Feedback
The impact of such a policy, though apparently long-term, would be gauged on the short term by the permeation of any Google-developed innovative feature into the mainstream. This would point out to a shift to a newer model built on a Google platform.
