Review of “Letter of Recommendation: Hangovers”
The writer believes that hangovers should be celebrated, and provide an immediate and potent remedy should one desire the hangovers experience. While his opinions on hangovers might be rather radical, he demonstrates an acute grasp of what should be done and knowledge on the subject. Talking from the point of experience, the Kent Russell provided the reader with the experiences of a hangover after one too many, and how to leave the sulk off the door and enjoy the moments with the distressing situation. The importance of a hangover to a human life is probably questionable, but the mere fact that the writer enjoyed the experiences might be a sufficient reason for the reader to try out the experience.
The’ Letter of Recommendation’ to the readers to move from their comfort zones and celebrate the hangover is hardly comforting, let alone persuasive. As he mentions the physical and metaphysical side effects, one can hardly consider the recommendations gravely. The dusty thudding on the head, a mouth tasting like a desert sin and others that he considers of greater importance to the metaphysical effects. It is the metaphysical effects that he feels should be celebrated. He feels that it is the metaphysical insights that have been pierced by the physical bases that provide the moments of reflection.
A hangover does not preoccupy one with a stress of the future, as it is already a nauseating experience.

Wait! Hangovers paper is just an example!

According to the writer, a hangover is so fulfilling that it does not leave room for other stress thoughts. Hangover provides a state where all the unbidden ideas and perspectives and connections are permitted to roam in and out one’s mind. Although the recommendation is very wild, it may be worth a try for an individual with no experience of what hangover does to a body.
Review of “Hangovers: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment
“Hangovers: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment” by Christian Nordqvist is principally divided into four sections; the introduction, Symptoms, causes and treatment for hangovers. The paper begins by allocating hangovers its fitting definition. The key term in the definition is ‘heavy drinking.’ The article goes a step further and mentions the typical symptoms of head, and which are not surprising, as they seem as pre-determinate. The article links certain psychological conditions to hangovers. While Christian Nordqvist had defined hangovers using heavy drinking as the key terms, he goes back to accept that the level of a hangover is closely linked to the amount of alcohol consumed, other key determinants of the severity of hangovers include sleep and water.
The writer admitted that it is difficult to estimate the amount of alcohol that causes a hangover so that one can consume below the level and avoid a hangover. Water is a remedy for hangovers, especially during binge drinking. It is difficult to discern whether the writer is a medical professional, or just one speaking from lay experiences. However, the clarity of the presentation cannot be in doubt, and he shows an intricate knowledge on the signs, causes, and the remedies. He mentions the common causes and differentiates with the possible causes of alcohol poisoning. He lists twenty-two symptoms with four underlined, perhaps to stress their ubiquity.
He also lists even key causes of a hangover, including congeners. Congeners are chemical that are produced during fermentation and are used in making the tastes people find alluring in liquor. Other causes include sleep quality, dilations of the blood vessels, drop in the blood sugar level, stomach irritation, and immune system responses. There is no treatment for hangovers, the article declares, however, it provides a few tips that one can find useful when experiencing the hangover.
Review of “A FEW TOO MANY Is there any hope for the hung over?”
“A few too many” by Joan Acocella is a long article that deeply explores the topic of a hangover on a comprehensive scale. The article, links the symptoms, causes, to cultural perspectives on a topic that is largely ignored by the society. The writer begins by wondering why scientists have never found a remedy for it, yet it seems to be a small problem, unlike other bigger problems, that people would understand if their cure is still not there.
Acocella (33) spent the first five-paragraph of the article reflecting on the effects of hangovers on the body, linking personal experiences to what was available in the literature. However, he acknowledges that the level of hangover one experiences depends directly on the amount of alcohol one consumed the night before, before drawing a caveat that that is not the only determinant. On the subsequent two paragraphs, the writer retraced the origin of hangovers and noted that it was as old as alcohol, which is apparently as old as the Stone Age. Obviously, the Egyptian civilization is not as long as the Stone Age period, but the writer makes a claim they might have been drowning their dead in pools of beer to so that they get hangovers in the afterlife.
The cultural perspectives on hangovers are perhaps the most interesting part of the article, with certain regions christening hangover with some witty references. ‘Tomcat’ a reference from the Germans and the Dutch is probably the wittiest compared to the others mentioned in the paragraphs. The remedies that occupy the latter part of the essay are laden with culturally developed maladies for the problem. Definitely, this interesting article is worth the time spent in reading it, as it offers humorous perspectives on every angle on hangovers.
