Historical comment of a Greek text

The text of this practice is a text of historiographic origin, dating from the year 121 D.C, in the full republican Rome, it still does not recourse the circumstances of this time, but expresses the events that were carried out a century earlier (1st century.C). The text, which is not complete, deals with the actions of Julio César in terms of urban improvements, in turn specifying in the elaboration of libraries.

First, I would like to concentrate on the historical era, in Republican Rome. This period in the history of Rome is marked by a series of great changes, not only politically, because it passed a monarchy to a republic, but in social and economic terms. With this, I mean, that the "leaders" who exercised power in this period of history, introduced many innovations in various aspects, an example of the imperial era is the creation of magistrates to be able to get to power, magistratures to which They did not access any citizen, but had to meet some requirements, including having some fortune. 

As for other aspects, more according to the text, we must emphasize that in this period many urban elements were attempted, and also many improvements from those already contemplated in Roman cities, even more so if possible with the expansion and creation of the creation of cities and municipalities; With all this it was carried out as exposed in the text in the creation of buildings that will house documentation, called libraries.

To go even more in the text, we have to take into account both the author, Suetonio, and the protagonist Julio César. Starting with the author, Suetonio was a Latin historian in the 1st century.C, although it is not widely known about his life, we know that I have positions that are very close to emperors, which served him to gather great first -hand information for the realization of numerous works, of which, unfortunately today he only They retain two, the work which we are commenting, lives of the twelve césares, and another work which is incomplete, about illustrious men. 

In these works we can see that Suetonio who always writes in the same way, that is, recounts the characters from the background that preceded him, through his birth, his career, the feats they made, his thinking, his physical appearance and to conclude his death; Despite this type of presentation in his works, he is not a writer who keeps the story in the temporal line. If we compare it with other historicalized historians to him, we will see that his way of writing is much simpler, it is not so rigorous, but with that he gives us a clear and direct idea of ​​events, sometimes so much that he gets to use his sources exactly, without any touch -up.
