Influence of Victorian Era on Public History
Queen Victoria made history to see a period named after her while she was still alive. Her regime was characterized by numerous changes and developments in all aspects. That is, medication, technology, scientific advancements and knowledge pertaining growth of the population and location (Walker 98). These transformations significantly impacted the performance of the country in general. The economy boomed and prospered as well thus placing Britain somewhere in the world as far as rankings concerning the economic growth are concerned. Currently, this era is substantially associated with family values, ethnicity, religion, and institutional faith.
Families of the 19th century were large and patriarchal. They fortified virtue of hard work, respect for one another and variations in social and religious matters. In this view, life in the 19th century was valid. However, it was much criticized. Women in the society were depicted as whores, but because of expanding opportunities in employment and education, they gained other roles outside the families (Walker 89).
Politics were significant to the people of Victoria. They believed in the betterment of their evolving government as well as transmitting it in entire British Empire (Walker 78). During this era, most political movements emerged and spread in Britain. Upon opening Africa and Asia to the west, white Victorians were much excited despite their being embarrassed by the dead loss of the Boer War.

Also, there was a dramatic expansion of work, and the establishment of a railway network enabled people to travel to different places for leisure activities. Journalism grew significantly owing to the rise in literacy levels of the people.
Moreover, scientific innovations triggered advancements in the medical sector. Hospitals were constructed, and there were development and specialization in surgery. Improvements in anesthetics were notable. People also had great faith in the institutions (Walker 65).
In conclusion, the Victorian Era greatly influenced public history. Through various advancements in different sectors, people attained better lifestyles. These were notable in governance, technological advancements, and scientific innovations.
