It has converted the town to be a manufacturing city with service industries. It is because most of the biggest countries in the world use the port of Singapore to transport their goods from one continent to the other. Therefore, this has made Singapore the busiest port in the world throughout the year. As a result, their economy is running day and night leading to thriving of businesses in the region. Among the countries that use Singapore when transporting their goods include Asia and Japan among other countries in the world (McKendrick et al., 78).
Due to its good positioning, crude oil is now refined in Singapore as well as raw rubber material is passed to the port of Singapore to China. Timber from Malaysia is also passed through the country to where they are processed. Therefore, among the neighboring countries that trade mostly with Singapore are the Malaysia and Indonesia that have made the country develop. However, one of the strategic plans in Singapore is to mainly focus on strengthening their industries as well as forming a growth triangle with their neighboring countries.
