According to several research studies, many patients having chronic kidney disease (CKD) might be lacking recommended health care, both at home and in hospitals (Jacobsen, 2014). When a person with this health condition lives a poor quality of life and does not acquire improved healthcare, the condition might progress, and the individual might develop heart-related problems. Quality healthcare is beneficial for all CKD patients, both at the developing stage and at the end-stage. This paper discusses the implication of poor quality care for CKD patients and how to improve their health status.
Chronic kidney disease has been a universal health issue and an essential determinant of unsatisfactory healthcare outcomes. Research shows that disadvantaged communities who survive from low resources or hail from minority groups tend to experience increased cases of unattended chronic kidney disease. A common implication of such a burden includes low birth weight, a health issue normally caused by serious changes to an individual’s body features and malnutrition. Chronic kidney disease is known to be a health burden in the whole world. It is costly a risk factor that might lead to heart-related diseases (Hill, Fatoba, Oke, Hirst, O’Callaghan, Lasserson & Hobbs, 2016). A reduced bone strength of a person can cause disablement. Poor healthcare of CKD patients also leads to strength decline and an increased rate of muscle mass when the patient advances in age.

A proper use of peripheral computerized tomography (CT) can assist when determining a patient’s level of bone mineral density (BMD). The two processes can also help in finding out any possibility of fracture among patients with chronic kidney disease. Healthcare providers should also consider approaches to assessment and diagnosis of sarcopenia in managing patients with CKD. The risk factors of CKD are in all the stages of its manifestation (Hill, Fatoba, Oke, Hirst, O’Callaghan, Lasserson & Hobbs, 2016). Lastly, the application of anaerobic exercise helps in slowing down muscle mass rate and improves strength among elderly patients.
