Abstract
Parents can never completely child-proof their house. However, they can reduce the likelihood of injuries at their homes and keep constant supervision of their children. Injuries among children are mostly caused by falls, burns, poison or drowning. First, parents should always be prepared and actively supervise. Being prepared is always being at arm’s reach of their children with all their attention focused on them at all the times. Actively supervising is ensuring their children are within their sight and the environment they are playing is safe. To prevent drowning at home children should never be left alone in the bath since they can drown easily in water that is a few centimeters. To prevent falls usage of safety gates should be utilized in the home. To prevent poisoning all medicine and other poisonous household product should be kept out of children reach and sight. Also, they should be immediately kept safe after purchase or use.

Items that can lead to tripping should be removed in the play area. These items can be toys, electrical cords, or rugs. Also, sharp corners from tables or benches should be removed.

Usage of Safety gates should be utilized in the home as it will help prevent falls. The safety gate should be at the top and bottom of a staircase.
Window locks should be installed to avoid wide open windows (Betterhealth, n.d).
Burns Injuries-Prevention
Matches, lighter, and flammable liquids should always be locked away and not within children reach.
The kitchen should be equipped with a fire blanket, and dry powder and the people in the house should know how to use them. The position of the Fire blankets should be one meter from the cooker. The fire extinguisher should be positioned at the entrance.
In case the children clothes are on fire they should be taught how to stop, drop down and roll (Betterhealth, n.d).
Poison Injuries-Prevention
All medicine and other poisonous household product should be kept out of children reach and sight. Also, they should be immediately kept safe after purchase or use.
Liquid medicine and other poisonous household products empty containers should be cleaned before they are thrown away (Betterhealth, n.d).
Evaluation
Involves assessing if the number of injuries has reduced.
