Inventive Communication
Artists will be motivated by diverging forms of intuition when marking arts, sculptures, and paints. The primary purpose of each piece of art will be communicating with viewers the thoughts, ideas, and viewpoints of the artist. Some people will consider a piece of art as arguably vague and lack meaning because they are not in a position to decipher the message that the artist intended to pass through. Although artists can be spatially separated, their ideas and thoughts can be thematically connected to relay a specific message to the viewers. Every work of the “Earthlings” exhibition reveals the ability of artists to communicate with the world at large regarding the contemporary issues facing the society using different intuitions of thinking.
Every work of art has a symbolic and thematic meaning which only a few can understand. Many will be fast to judge and make conclusive statements regarding the work of arts of other artists. Humans have diverse perceptions of thinking and this can be attributed to differences in the manner in which they are raised and brought up. Shary Boyle (1) argues that while their personal experiences will motivate some artists, others rely on cultural expertise for intuition. Humans will prefer to venture into that which they have adequate information and skills about. The same case applies to artists who will choose their subjects based on the issues they are best conversant with.

The form of attachment to such problems ranges from personal, intimate or even physical. The level of intimacy with their choice of subjects is what keeps the artists going on.
Art connects the living and the dead through inventive and intricate means which only a few would decipher. The earthling exhibits are the best description of innate communication where humans can communicate and establish links with the real world. Although some of the arts presented at the Esker Foundation have human aspects, their appearance is scary. In fact, they seem inhumane and unreal. The artists have a precise meaning for each of their art, and some the arts have a connection with each of the surreal world. Some of the works give life to inhumane aspects with the sole intention of manifesting an unknown story. A typical example of this kind of work is a drawing of Shuvinai Ashoona who has based his artwork on the inner cosmos life of an individual (Thompson 1). Although the drawings are disturbing and funny, they still have a thematic and symbolic meaning
A piece of art can have a solo meaning, or several arts can be grouped together and therefore treated collaboratively. A collaborative approach deploys a multi-faceted tactic of continuously consolidating the ceramics. The nature of the art is based on the dreams and the realities of an artist. Culture is a crucial attribute of great significance while evaluating the thematic meaning of some works of art. In the quest to facilitate endurance, there exists a direct correlation between the piece of art and the culture. However, of great importance is what motivates the artist to work on a given paint, sculpture or even ceramic. Boyle (2) argues that most artists are either moved by grief, loneliness or an element of love. Those artists who feel oppressed will opt to seek justice by putting all that they have in their mind in a piece of art. The other group will prefer finding the truth by reckoning the past and evaluating the present. In a nutshell, art remains one of the most effective approaches to connecting with others through a living relic which in this case is the piece of artwork.
Art has not only passed the test of time but has also managed restrictions placed by geographical distance and cultural differences. Despite the fact that artists share different perspectives and opinions, they still link up in the language that they comprehend best which in this case is through art. the intuitive communication power of art surpasses even individuals who share a common first language or similar life experiences. This is because art intertwines past and present memories to create a bridge that unites the two extremes. Sometimes humans tend to overlook and ignore the impact of imagination as a subversive force. The human mind is wired in such a manner that their vision is defined by freedom and their ability to engage their body and heart alongside the brain. There is, therefore, a myriad of compelling intuitions which can motivate someone to assume a given line of thought.
The earthling’s exhibition provides a contemporary and intuitive perspective on art. Boyle argues that the Esker Foundation brought the seven artists together but with a definite course of action (Boyle 1). None of the artists is looking forward to fame or anyone who will come over to commend them for what they have done. Furthermore, there are still haters who will always express their hatred and dissatisfaction with the works of some artists. Instead, the artists are united in this discourse because they have a message for the universe and their approach to communication is unique. The artists understand that they share a common institutional discourse which is the sincere and intrinsic love for art. Art is challenging, inspiring, awakening and activating and the Earthling’s exhibits have proved all this. However, each artist acknowledges, respects and appreciates the works of other artists.
Art relies on visual communication to relay messages since it has the power of dictating what is possible in the world. The art career is a risky profession which places the artists at a vulnerable state either through their faith or the level of generosity. Some people tend to be judged in that they see flaws in each aspect of life. They will, therefore, hurry to criticize others for their piece of arts without prior knowledge on what the art entails and the real intent of the artist. Others will even start to relate the religious affiliation of artists to what they have in the form of art. Due to the hidden thematic nature of a given piece of art, controversies may arise regarding what is religiously moral and ethical. The world’s best artists tend to ignore and overlook accusations from such people because their allegations are baseless and vague. Furthermore, we are living in a free society where the freedom of expression is a civil right.
Each piece of art at the Earthling’s exhibition has a complex narrative incorporating myth, ecology, cosmology, and history (Thompson 1). Artists have to endure a lot to emerge triumphant in a world that has placed very minimal concern on the value of art in the contemporary society. In fact, artists are striving to create collaborative arts due to inadequate studios. There are very few studios all over the world where artists can create sculptural works. Apparently, there is only one studio that is known for supporting the art of Inuit ceramics, Matchbox Gallery. The studio has helped artists to move from the stone sculptures to inuit ceramics. Recently, Boyle who was the chief architect of the Earthling’s exhibition has collaborated with other artists in the quest to settle their differences and help the art industry to grow and develop. Artists coming from both the north and the south meet at the Kivalliq region where they can exchange ideas and collaboratively work together (Igloliorte 2).
The transformative nature of art is overwhelming in that it has helped revolutionize the world. Many people can attest to the manner in which art has impacted on the contemporary world with primary emphasis being in the way in which people communicate. The earthling’s exhibit has changed the way in which people perceive and interpret art. Art is progressive and has evolved. The same transformational changes are being experienced in the field of communication. Art can be compared to an inscribed language which only those who develop an interest in learning can decipher.
Since time immemorial, art has been highly valued, but this has not been the same for pieces of art which were created during the latest millennial. There have been claims that most of the modern day arts do not reflect the taste and preference of the contemporary world. It has become a standard notion that humans are only attracted to things which seems attractive and appealing to see. However, this is ignorance of reality because the world is never perfect but has two extremes. There is always a dark side of life which at times humans tend to ignore. Art, on the other hand, will attempt to revive the dark past and create a link with the present. However, the relationship between the two may help humankind to understand why something happened in the past and what might have motivated them what ensued.
The idiosyncratic pieces of artistic works at the Earthling’s exhibition questions all those persons who judge and stereotype others because of their culture. The fact that the seven artists come from different cultural backgrounds means that they have a set of assumptions which they have to abide by at all times. Art does not offer any ground to stereotype others based on either gender, age or even racial ethnicity. Instead, art unites individuals from various divides with the sole intention of facilitating effective communication. Humans have placed minimum expectations on what art can do, and the Earthly exhibitions just proved that there is more to expect from arts in the modern world. The main idea is to create a link with the ancient arts and thereby the continuity of art’s relevance in the society. There should be a collaborative relationship between the old and the most recent works of art.
The natural ecosystem is very diverse, and Shuvinai Ashoona’s drawings showcase this diversity. Ashoona’s works are populated by real and surreal creatures which inhabit the earth (Igloliorte 3). These creatures range from monsters, snakes, spiders and even human beings. Of primary importance is the fact that all these creatures coexist peacefully with each other in the natural ecosystem. In most of his drawings, all the creatures seem to communicate intuitively with each other. This is considering the fact they all use unique languages although they understand each other. Each creature respects the natural space of the other. The same applies to artists who may even create an imaginary realm resembling how humans survive with other species in the universe. The cognitive ability of humans is well developed and surpasses that of other creatures. They have the capability of deciphering the language of other creatures and thereby coexisting peacefully with all of them.
The seven artists featuring in the Earthling’s exhibitions have displayed the value of creative exchange which is a boost to the process of communication. The cooperative spirit of the artist enhances the collaboration aspect of the method of communication. Their goals would remain unfulfilled if they have no audience or viewers and they would be irrelevant. Instead, the world has decided to give them a listening ear where they expect them to reciprocate the same through their mastery of arts. A bridge unites two divides, and it would be incomplete if it is only beneficial to one party or neither. This means that individuals from one side of the divide should be able to cross over to the other side. The communication cycle is a loop which completes once the recipient confirms that he/she received the message and therefore send feedback.
Earthlings have created and aroused the desire for mutual learning where persons from all walks of life can interact and learn a thing or two. Arts is a major discipline, and its incorporation in the syllabus was a significant move to change how the society perceives artists. No single person can brag or boast about having intel on all forms of arts that exist. This explains the reason why artists such as Boyle are merging with Ashanoon to create collaborative works. Arts is a significant discipline which relies on the contribution of all stakeholders to drive the agenda of emancipating the masses on the need of recognizing the significance of arts in the society.
Boyle is the architect of the Earthling’s exhibition and her dedication to restoring the lost glory of modern day art is a matter of great concern. She collaborated with six other artists in the quest to revive the field of modern-day arts. The seven artists have created a learning exchange where other artists can follow suit. In fact, the exhibition has proved that distance and cultural differences are not barriers in the quest to promote intuitive learning. The Earthly exhibits provided a platform for cultural exchange and cohesion between the various ethnic groups all over the world. There is no excuse as to why someone would not appreciate the significance of art in revolutionizing the universe.
The inuit arts industry has faced much criticism from the government due to the nature of their arts. Issues spanned from the general appearance of the arts to the technical aspect of their artistic works. Some officials claimed that some of the Earthly exhibits resembled existing stone sculptures. Although two arts look similar in appearance, the mode in which they are represented differs from one piece of art to another. However, this does not render the two arts entirely resemble each other. An artist can even recreate the work of another artist in the quest to showcase diversity. Furthermore, even art changes with time and the contemporary arts need to conform to the demands of the modern world. In the quest to ensure that there is a definitive gap between two or more pieces of art, there should be a distinctive description describing the differences between the two.
The language of arts is very inventive, and the Earthling’s exhibit is just a perfect example of how surreal the field of arts can be. When reviewing any piece of art, each element of an aspect of the art is placed into consideration. This is because an artist will have diverse reasons which motivated them to craft a given piece of art. Artists can also unite with each other and organize group exhibitions. Their goal will, therefore, be collaborating in the quest to reduce controversies regarding the effectiveness of the modern day artists. Collaboration is not only limited to two artists but spans to include even five artists provided each one of them has a definite role to play. However, this approach is gradually becoming popular in most artistic studios from all over the world.
Boyle believes that there is so much in the art that is yet to be explored. The earthly exhibitions are not the ultimatum, but the initiative should act as a pacesetter on what should ensue shortly. There is no perfect timing to launch a revolution whose impact will change the world. Instead, each time is perfect. Modern day artists should not limit their capabilities of what they can explore in the field of arts. Instead, there is a myriad of options to consider. Artists should focus on relaying their message to their intended audience. They are free to deploy thematic and symbolic approaches to addressing the issues in question. Furthermore, the primary point of concern is offering insight on what the piece of art means. However, artists should not criticize the works of paintings of other artists. Instead, they should support and guide them in all their initiatives. Artists have to help each other if they have to survive in the contemporary world. A united force will always be more powerful and resilient than a divided team of artists.
In conclusion, humans cannot ignore the value and the significance of art in bridging the gap between two extremes. Since time immemorial arts have been accorded highest regards since the new millennials. There have been significant transformative changes which have forced the modern day artists to deploy other techniques of reaching out to their intended consumers. Boyle and her colleagues merged and decided to start the Earthly exhibitions with the sole intention of showcasing why artists should unite and work collaboratively. In fact, it is a wakeup call which has not only revived how humans live but how they communicate with other creatures in the universe. Furthermore, we live in a diverse world, and every being has a role to play. The earthly exhibitions create a link between the real and the surreal world. There are a group of people who have been used to criticizing artists on baseless claims because they do understand the thematic and symbolic meaning. It is the high time that we acknowledge that art offers an intuitive and inventive approach to communication.
