Poor people are characterized by unemployment, family separation, diseases, lack of proper housing, and lack of resources.
Rich individuals are characterized by living in proper housing, enormous resources, adequate health care, formal employment, and businesses (Glatzer 4).
Poor people are mostly affected by high costs of living such as housing and food.
Rich people do not mind about the costs of living because they have immense resources to cater for their day to day expenses.

Poor people mismanage their resources while the rich are excellent managers of resources (Glatzer 3).
Poor individuals often lack balanced diets while the rich ones have food that is rich in all nutrients.
Poor people avoid risks while the rich are risk takers.

Poor people lack a proper education while rich individuals have an excellent formal education (Glatzer 1).
There is a significant health inequality between poor and rich people. The poor lack basic health care while the rich access the best health care.
The rich have a comfortable life because they have immense resources as opposed to the poor who lead a miserable life.
Comparing and contrasting living in poverty and being rich
Being rich involves having a lot of money or possessions as opposed to living in poverty which is characterized by lack of financial resources.

Being rich involves having all the basic necessities of life like food, shelter and clothing. Living in poverty means lack of the basic needs in life (Glatzer 1).
Being rich involves enormous investments in property markets and funds. Living in poverty does not allow investments because there is a lack of resources.
Conclusion
Living in poverty involves lack of financial resources as opposed to being rich which means lack of it.
Poor people lack savings and investments while the rich are endowed with immense savings and investments (Glatzer 3).
It is paramount to consider bridging the gaps that lead to the disparities between the rich and the poor. Accessibility to proper housing, financial resources, education, and health would bridge the gaps.
