John Elder Robison is an author that suffered from Asperger’s syndrome, which is a high form of autism. The struggle with a neurological abnormality, made it hard for him to socialize with his peers. One obstacle that the author talks about in the first section is his poor social skills. In spite of his dreaded desire to interact with his peers, he does not have any idea of how to go about it. John mentions a time when he was thinking of becoming friends with a dog. He must have been lonely to come to such a conclusion. To do this, he decided to pet the dog and create that friendship intimacy (Robison 12). At a tender age John tried to make friends a little girl will they were playing in school. He almost gave up on her when she smacked him, but he then decided to modify his strategy and innocently picked a stick to pet the girl. John was confused and crushed when all his efforts were rejected. John was always struck by either rejection or failure in almost everything he gave a short. He did not understand himself leave alone others, therefore, to fit in he had to forge friendships. Lacking the sense of belonging made the author feel less appreciated and socially accepted. Unfortunately, no one seemed to understand the disorder he suffered from as a kid. For instance, the parents did not notice how lonely their child was to the extent of making friends with a dog. And this posed as an obstacle since he could not freely express himself leaving him with the alternative of faking a personality.

Wait! Look Me in the Eye paper is just an example!

Most kids that have had the same condition as the author goes through so much torture which if not handled might lead them into committing suicide.
