The Hospital plays a major role in the emergency preparedness and emergency management. The role of the hospital can be described in terms of the main personnel roles as well as functions. Firstly, there is a hospital incident commander whose assumes the general leadership for executing the emergency plan. The other personnel is the medical command physician whose function is to decide the number, acuity as well as resource requirements of patients (Blair, Ignatavicius, Rebar, Winkelman & Workman, 2015).
