Before the carjackers get to the destined garage, they roll over a Korean man who they pick and drop near a hospital before delivering their package. The shootout that leaves a black police officer dead involving two undercover police officers got the surviving white police officer in his third instance of killing a black man. The vast amount of money discovered in the car of the black officer is suggestive of the cause of the conflict between them. Departing from the scene, John Ryan, an LAPD officer demonstrates his dislike for the dark-skinned after stopping and harassing a couple. The couple, Cameron and his wife Christine are ordered to roll over by John, which they adhere to after which John sexually, molests Christine, but John bears it. Christine is unhappy that her husband watched the insults and still apologized to the officer.
Lara, Daniels younger daughter is terrified by the gunshot outside, and it takes Daniel creativity and effort when he gives her an impenetrable cloak to make her feel secure and get sleep on her bed. A crisis happens later between Daniel and the Persian shop owner, who after advising him to change the door frame, Dorris father claim that Daniel is lying to him which leaves Daniel angry and leaves the premise. Later there is a break-in and Farhad blames it on Daniel and purports to kill him, which he does. These are just but some of the instances of the crisis in the Crash film. In this review, we will dwell on the two; one involving Daniel Luiz, Farhad, Jean and Lara, Daniels daughter. The other one will be that of Jean, Cabot’s wife and her hatred for the Hispanics.
Farhad locates Daniels house and is ready for an ambush when Daniels wife Elizabeth steps out of the front door. She helplessly watched Farhad fire bullets to his husband. Their daughter jumps in his fathers’ arms to protect him with the invisible cloak that the father had given her. The ammunition box that Farhad’s daughter purchased contained blanks and prevented him from committing a serious crime. With the broad definition of the crisis above, the situation thus qualifies to be a crisis with Farhad attempting to murder Daniel. Farhad misunderstanding of Daniel genuine advice to change the doorframe, consequently resulting in a break in compels him to believe that Daniel handled his loss. Despite Daniel being an upright man, most of his fellow Hispanics are thugs and gunmen, which makes people from other races, fail to believe in his genuine service.
The experience that Farhad got after his misconception of Daniels message was intolerable to him and made him seek revenge in the murder of Daniel. The situation goes beyond his ability to cope. His daughter Dorri had the opportunity to intervene in the crisis and got the best solution to be the use of a blank copy of ammunition saving the life of Daniel and his daughter. Farhad is puzzled and regrets his act just after firing the bullets at Daniel and his daughter. Her daughter had given him a chance for redemption and saving him many years in jail. There are chances of aggravated crisis if the two parties are not intercepted. Immediate intervention is required to prevent more irrational decisions from both Daniel and Dorri’s father.
Mobilization of resources to ensure that ailing Daniel get to the hospital and his bruises treated should be the top priority. His wife is opposite and openly speaks of her hatred for the blacks and the Hispanics to his husband. In the story plot, the couple is carjacked at gunpoint by two black men taking the car with them. On getting home, Daniel Ruiz, a locksmith of Hispanic origin is hired to change their locks. The wife is a skeptic and thinks that the locksmith will give copies of keys to gangsters from his race. She yells at her black house cleaner on getting utensils in the sink and orders for them be moved to the cupboard. Her anger overtakes her and complains waking up angry each day. The result is falling in a flight of stairs where she is badly hurt. Contrary, her husband tries all means possible to be in terms with the Hispanics and the blacks to the extent of wishing the carjackers were not of black origin. He has a struggle remembering an instance in real terms with a black.
There is both family and social crisis entangled in the incident. Cabot and his wife Jean are both in the stressful situation, which affect his wife and cramps her head. Such incidences lead to trauma, and a therapist is necessary for advice. Accusations made loudly by Jean probably worsen the relationship with her husband, the blacks, and the Hispanics. The bad relations will drive them away, and the result will have no house cleaner in the house, and no one to fix their doors. Jean constantly blame their unlucky incidences on her husband calling him reckless. Her falling are attributed to emotional responses feeling helpless and irritated.
