Introduction

Muslims believe that angels were created by God from pure light. The belief in its existence encompasses the Islamic faith itself. Unlike Christianity, there is no concept of fallen angel in Islam, since no one can disobey God and, therefore, cannot fall out of favor. They were created with the sole purpose of serving God and being made of light, they can assume almost any form that seems real to the human eye. They belong to a level of existence beyond the perceptible world of phenomena, called Alam al-Ghayb.

The root of the meaning of Angel in Arabic is a messenger, which can be related to the Archangel Gabriel, who revealed the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad.

The Quran refers to Los Angeles in several passages:

Jardines del Eden, where they will enter … and the angels will enter them through all the doors. (13:23).

The angel of death, who has been commissioned with you, will pick you up;Then you will be returned to your lord. (32:11).

If you could only see when the evildoers are in the agony of death and the angels are extending their hands: they give their souls! (VI, 93). Believers, keep yourself and your families in fire whose fuel is men and stones, and on which there are hard and terrible angels (66, 6).

There are observers, noble writers, who know everything they do. (82: 10-12)

About each soul there is a guard. (86: 4).

Unlike the Christian tradition, Islam does not have a firm hierarchical structure for angels, those mentioned in the Qur’an only seem to have specific roles as an example. Ridwan is the name of the angel that governs paradise. However, there is an unfortunate structure as far as seniority is concerned. The angels that seem to have this age are:

Jibra’il (Jabriel, Jabril, Jibra’il, Soap. The angel who communicates with the prophets. Apparently, he has twelve wings and when observing his real appearance, the prophet Mohamed passed out to see him,

Mikail (or Mikaaiyl or Michael). Archangel of the livelihood and award for the good actions carried out in this life. Is above the seventh sky.

Israfil (or Israafiyl or Raphael). The angel in charge of announcing the day of judgment, when his horn sounds (in the Christian tradition this is the duty of the Archangel Gabriel). It is said that it has four wings, two of its wings fill each of the rooms of the compass, this and west, the next covers its descent from the sky and the last wing that you used to become invisible.

Izra’il (or azrael). Izra’il is the angel of death who is responsible for freeing the soul from the physical body of man. It is also indicated that this angel will appear as a terrifying demon for those souls that have worn bad lives on earth, while the souls of the good will see a beautiful angelic form.

Mikail (or Mikaaiyl or Michael). The angel of livelihood. You can also please Karma’s angel, since he is responsible for rewarding those who have led a good life.

The other angels mentioned in the Quran are:

• Malik is the angel who governs hell and the fire of hell.
• Ridwan is the angel that governs paradise.
• Kiraamun Kaatibe in the two angels who sit on the shoulder of humanity and record the good and bad actions carried out by that person.
• Mockar and Nakir Los Angeles who question a person in the grave about their good and bad actions.
• Harut and Marut are the angels who were given the attributes of man (free will_ and when God sent them to Earth they committed the sins of man.
