A good strategic plan is essential in ensuring that an organization achieves its mission and goals. As the HR executive for a large hospital, I have been tasked with preparing a new strategy for the hospital. The main reason for the existence of the hospital is to provide services to patients. To do that, the employees of the hospital, such as nurses and doctors should be well taken care of.
One of the strategies I would include is clinical research. In a world where technology is constantly changing, many clinical care processes need updating. Participating in clinical studies will enable the hospital to contribute to intellectual advances (Van Walraven et al., 2011). The research will focus on fields of interest such as advanced cardiovascular surgery and many others. The study will enable our doctors to make the necessary improvements to treat the diseases and conditions. Such will improve our clinical care and turn, satisfy our customers. The clinical research will be conducted on an annual basis and reviewed to determine its effectiveness.
Another strategy that would help the performance of the hospital would be to partner with the community. It will help the hospital to coordinate and deliver services for patients better. We can partner with private organizations such as nursing homes to help manage the transition of care (Bradley et al., 2013). By doing this, we will ensure that patients are well taken care of outside the hospital to prevent re-admission.

Partnering with the community will also provide the hospital with information on current health problems they are experiencing and thus enabling us to devise ways to eliminate them.
For a strategy to function, it must include the vision and mission statements of the organization, the core values, and strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threats analysis. It should also have long-term goals and the action plans (Vest, J. R., & Gamm, 2010).
