Objectives in Completing this Practicum
A political campaign demands excellent interpersonal skills to influence the target population. In this case, by the end of the practicum, I strive to achieve the following objectives:
Identify challenges facing the community socially, politically and economically.
Increase the number of supporters to defeat my competitors.
Reduce the expenses in the campaign while maximizing the coverage of daily events.
Eliminate bias and propaganda against my candidate.
Market the strengths of the candidate and provide proposals to the mitigation of challenges in the society.
What I hope to Achieve by Election Day
All along the campaign period, I will be actively involved in interaction with the citizens where I will focus on identifying their challenges to shed light on the candidate on most probable approaches to mitigate the problems. Besides, it will be essential to develop knowledge on political grounds that might be of great help in the future. Among the significant skills I strive to achieve are:
Enlighten the population on the need for rights and responsibilities.
Change a significant number of citizens on the need for engaged citizenship.
Understand the basics of leadership skills in influencing the population.
Identify how social constructs including cultural diversity affect the political career.
How the Skills will help me to Pursue Long-term Goals
Understanding rights and responsibilities would help in developing skills related to the role of citizens to the state and defining boundaries of justice for all people on the basis of their rights (Lloyd, 2008).

Developing leadership skills will be my strength in the future when I am inspired to compete for political positions. Increasing skills in cultural differences is an appropriate approach to developing a strategic message that captures the attention of all people despite their ethnicity. The core competencies that emerge from my goals include understanding the rights, responsibilities and role of law on social, economic and political issues in the society (Lloyd, 2008). From these, it will be possible to be a competent politician in the long run.
