Noel Conway Loses His Right To Death.
After battling with the rare motor neuron disease way back in 2014, Noel Conway decided to go to the courts to try and legalize his death. The disease which causes a movement in his right hand, his back as well as his neck. According to the 68-year-old man, he had a hard time and would like to be prescribed a dose to end his life by his doctor once it is determined he has less than six months left before his natural death comes.
In a call, he said that he was sure with what he wanted. “The courts have denied me the justice to make decisions for my life,” said Noel Conway. “I have battled the disease long enough, and to this far my doctors have done all they could.” he continued (BBC News, 2018). His family has been with him throughout all this time of pain, and now he thinks it is the time to let go.
He was unable to attend any court hearings, and his lawyer had to do everything for him. The bedridden old man seems to have had enough of his life. “I have had enough battle, too much debt will set in to sustain my life,” said Conway “My life is never getting any better, and I know the end of this is death.” In his voice, he had sense in his words. Though feeling bitter and sad, he said he had to accept the fact (BBC News, 2018).
According to the British law and all the natural laws all over the world, ending your life is a crime, and therefore, Conway wanted to look for a leeway through the corridors of justice to find a way through which he can handle his life the way he wanted.

But in the end, the law is the law. It is in the hands of justice to say what they have to say and must be accepted.
Form Mr. Conway he felt very disappointed by the results of the court that he had lost the right to take his life when he wished. “The only option I currently have is to remove my ventilator and effectively suffocate to death under sedation,” he said. “To me, this is not acceptable.” This shows how he had planned well how to go about it. Indeed, it would be effortless to end it (BBC News, 2018). But sitting back and examining the facts beforehand such an idea can be brutal and barbaric.
On the other side, the judges had their say. They had the reasons to deny Conway his wish. It is true that the law does not choose or discriminate. Accepting Conway’s desire would open up a way for others who had the similar feeling come to court to ask for the same. Or even do it at their home in secret (Palmer, 2000). The right to life would have been undermined. “No-one doubts that the issue is of transcendent public importance,” the judges said. “It touches us all… we all have to contemplate our death.” He further reasoned out. “It would be going against the laws of nature,” according to him no one has to know about their time of death (BBC News, 2018). Natural death has to be allowed to take its course, and their job is to ensure that the above is kept and left that way.
