Andragogy indicates the methods, strategies, and principles that are applicable in teaching adult learners using the online resources. Training the nursing professionals is an example of the andragogy concept. Nurses are given programs through the internet, cases studies, or research analysis (Nguyen et al., 2016). The nurse educators apply the concept of andragogy to enhance the nursing curricula. One of the cognitive domains is the application, and it enables the learners to execute their knowledge. The learners use the information that they have in the real-life-practice, and on offering solutions to the health challenges.
One of the useful learning experiences is the student nurse placement or internship. The placement enables learners to understand and apply different areas of nursing in the health environment. It also gives nurses the opportunity to have active mentorship from experienced or senior nursing staff. The nurse students get the chance to apply the class theories; for example, the student gets the chance to dress a wound. Student placement is part of the nursing curriculum. It enables the learners to acquire technical or practical skills. For example, the student nurse gets a chance to diagnose the conditions of the patients, under the supervision of competent health staff. The placement enables the students to access online resources in the hospital environment; for example, the YouTube tutorials on dressing a wound.

The application of andragogy is significant among the nursing student, professionals, and patients. It enables the student to acquire both theoretical and practical skills in the actual hospital environment. For example, it improves the recovery rate as the patient is given treatment using the latest technology and research information.
