I am very passionate about the field of Psychology and eagerly hope to take a BA Degree with a major in this field. I believe this would be a great degree for me as it would allow me to further my critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis and writing skills. These are all aspects of my personal development that I think are very important and Psychology, I feel, will offer me those skills. I feel I have a lot to learn and also a lot to offer the program. I am inquisitive, creative and hard working. Thus, I would set a good standard for the program, and no doubt strongly motivate my classmates. I believe I have a mind that is ready to learn and will offer my teachers a student that is ready to absorb their knowledge. I have the highest respect for this field of study and the teachers who choose to teach it. I feel they are like gateways for me to understand the world.
I have always had a keen interest in the area of Psychology. From a young age, I was fascinated with human interaction and how the brain works. How people perceive the world and each other. I have always felt that deep down I would someday be a social scientist and figure out something very important about how humans relate to each other and how each person sees the world. Looking at the world through the lens of Psychology I feel would allow me to answer the many questions that have interested me throughout my life. I have a strong interest in all aspects of Psychology; from cognitive to behavioral to developmental psychology.

I look forward to gaining knowledge with regards each sub-discipline. In many ways taking this degree with offer me an outlet to pursue and answer so many questions. Like: what are the fundamental building blocks of the mind? What is stronger: nature or nurture? How strong is human nature? How do children learn? How does memory work? What are the causes of mental illness? How can we treat mental illnesses? What are the most important chemicals in the brain? Answering these questions and so many more is the reasons I want to take Psychology.
I promise you I have the highest standard of worth ethic and sincerity. I will eagerly dig deep into this field of study and get the most out of this degree. This degree is something that will change my life for the better and change many others lives as I practice and share what I learn. My ability to focus and concentrate on my studies will be engaged with the highest level of energy that I am capable of. I will endeavor to constantly motivate myself as I truly know this is my dream in life, and I should not take that lightly. Even though I am sure I will get down and frustrated at times I will constantly pick myself up and re-motivate myself.
Unfortunately, I was not born into a family with plentiful financial means. Though my parents were supportive and hardworking, they were not able to accumulate much wealth. This has put me in a very difficult position. I dearly want to pursue a career as a psychologist however I currently am not able to afford tuition, books and the other many expenses that go with university life. Without aid I will still strive to achieve my goal of becoming a psychologist, however, there is no question the goal will have to be put on hold. I will have to save up money and achieve this goal over a much longer time frame. I will have to take classes only part time and work full time as well. While this is possible I feel that it would be in my best interest to begin taking full-time courses now. I feel my learning will be nurtured and propelled forward to a far greater degree if I start now as opposed to having to wait. I kindly hope you consider my grant application. This grant will mean the world to me and I assure you it will be money well spent. My strong desire to succeed in this field leaves me with no doubt that this grant will be repaid to the world many times over. I know there are many other worthy recipients out there, and your decision will not be an easy one. All I can say is that you will not go wrong if you give me this grant. It will be appreciated in the most sincere way. Thank you so much.
