Currently, there is an improper flow of information within the business. This has created a sense of laxity in the staff. This lax state has seen the decline in productivity and marginal profits from the business. It has also come to the attention that because of lack of training opportunities not many employees know the trends within their organizations and managers do not have the adequate management skills to run training workshops. There is a very little initiative that is being taken by the employees and the management as they focus on other parts of the business. With very little initiative innovation and creativity in product development has completely been exfoliated from the business. This has hampered the concern’s ability to be as competitive within the industryCITATION EBe02 p 34 l 1033 (Bernroider, 2002, p. 34).
To solve this problem the business managers and staff require management and leadership training. Project Plan
Identifying the goals, visions, and objectives of the business
The first task to be undertaken is to find out exactly what the business aims not just for the training program but also for the business as a whole.
Business visions communicate to the public the values that are held by a company. In most cases, they are emblazoned on the office walls and even on the wrappers of the products the company sells. The goal of identifying the vision of the company is to ensure that no employee senior or subordinate overlooks it. The first step of the vision being made into reality is by ensuring that it is known and never forgottenCITATION Age08 p 105 l 1033 (Kwadzo, 2008, p. 105).
The business goals and objectives will be identified and taught to the firm’s staff. These two are important to the entrepreneur and any business owner because they clarify they clarify the purpose of the business and give specific actions on how to achieve the said set of purposes. Some of the goals of a business may include growth. The enterprise aims at expansion within a couple of years and thus needs to create a leadership base to enable the growth goal to be achieved flawlessly. Another goal of a business is profitability. This typically refers to limiting costs and increasing revenues. Profitable operations enable continuity of the concern.
Planning the leadership training
The execution of the leadership training is the elemental part of the entire project and requires a lot of detail to be put into it to ensure that the training meets the expectations of all the persons to be involved.
Objectives of the training
a. All participants gain the required knowledge to execute leadership responsibilities
The people involved in the training will be given the required set of skills that can enable then to execute leadership roles with ease. Such skills will be strategic planning and management of resources.
b. Build effective enterprise leaders
At the end of the training, it is expected that the attendees would be in a position to steer their coworkers and departments in the right direction by example and through communicationCITATION Kar15 p 65 l 1033 (Martin, 2015, p. 65).
c. Encourage better communication
This will be reached at by
Teaching participants on proper ways of understanding difficult people and managing the tense situation in the workplace. Such a skill will enable the participants to be able to deal with workplace conflicts
Training on ways of improving listening skills so as to gain helpful information.
Developing a comprehensive team building strategy.
d. Enabling the participants to find a leadership style that will fit them.
There is no single style that defines every manager. The training must then be set at standards for both collegial and directive leadership approaches. What each trainee will then be exposed to will depend on their choice of leadership style.
3. Time limit
To better plan for the entire project then a time limit will be put in place to allow for a more structured and goal-oriented project.
The entire training is aimed to take up at least three weeks. This will not be within the working days so as not to disrupt the productivity of the organization. The first two weeks will be aimed at continuous training on leadership and how to be effective leaders. This is supposed to equip the training participants with the most skill when they complete the training CITATION Jaa15 l 1033 (Saade, 2015). There will be a constant stream of intellectuals and professionals from the leadership industry to train the participants.
The very last week will be crowned with a personal training conference. The conference is aimed at helping the participants to tackle problems that relate personally to them and also for self-improvement.
4. Criteria for choosing participants.
To ensure that the entire organization benefits from this initiative there will be a team of five people chosen from each department within the organizationCITATION Asw10 p 54 l 1033 (Domandarail, 2010, p. 54). These small teams will be easier to impart knowledge upon and will cost the organization less amount in terms of finance and man hours.
5. Training methods
Walt Disney an entertainment firm believes that an in-house training program is the most effective form of training. It ensures that all the employees are sufficiently equipped with the skill and know-how to tackle industry problems. Methods that will be used to ensure that as the company’s staff take home as much knowledge from the training as possible include;
Benchmarking.
Within an organization, even the failing ones there exists a department of a branch of the business that does extemporarily well despite the prevailing conditions CITATION Age08 l 1033 (Kwadzo, 2008). Benchmarking method takes this into consideration. It will be done in the following way. First, the best performing department or branch of the business will be identified. After that then a group of the trainees will then be chosen and given three days to observe how the department or branch operates. They are then to give a report to the larger group on their findings. This training method will be conducted within the second week of the training.
Classroom and outdoor settings
This will mainly involve lectures from expert personnel. It will be conducted in the first week of the training.
Advantages of training programs
Training programs can help transform a business from good to great. They have the following advantages to:
Individuals
1. They boost self-confidence
Leadership training conferences teach an individual to perceive difficult situations in a different way, and this can tackle challenges with the confidence that is required.
2. Individuals meet other leaders
This exposes people to different ideas and helps then network.
3. Impart important intellectual and practical skills
The skills learned, enable the individual to be a better leader. Communication skills impart charisma and enable the trainees to be able to move the other employees to a certain direction.
Business
1. Solve succession problems
With leaders at every turn then it is made easier to choose heads of departments.
2. Improves productivity
Training programs boost employee morale due to an equal boost in confidence. They also enable the leadership of a business to be more effective and thus achieve the firm’s goals.
Future for the company leadership project
To ensure that the training principles acquired and engraved deep into the organization’s core the future is also planned for.
Manager for day programs will be initiated in the business
This is where an employee is made to shadow the manager for a day to learn the responsibilities roles and values of that department. The system should be fair in allocation to ensure that each employee has an equal chance of becoming a manager for the day.
Employee to employee training
This is where the staff that underwent the training teach what they learned to those who did not.
Qualifications
In the service industry currently there are a large number of organizations that offer leadership training services. Due to the lack of expertise in this firm concerning that specific training program. The business will have to outsource from one of the many firms available in the industry today. While outsourcing then the person or concern to complete the job should be fully vetted and should, by all means, conform to the desires of the firm. They must possess the required experience to ensure the success of the program and be able to work within the organization’s timeline CITATION Bou16 l 1033 (Boundless, 2016).
The project is bound to be successful and help the organization to reach and maybe go beyond its potential. This is evidenced by programs that have been taken on previously by the organization. For instance, the adoption of the appraisal method to rank and gauge employee effectiveness has worked wonders in improving the overall productivity and motivation of the staff. There was also the adoption of the managers training program that revealed the equal measure of success.
This is proof that if given the resources and taken with the amount of seriousness that it deserves then the program will be a success.
Estimate Budget
Item  Cost (USD)
Training equipment  23000
Trainer expenses  15000
Venue for training  123000
Transport  13000
Real costs
Labor hours  145000
The training expenses will be expensive but will have a profitable outcome for the business in the end. Thus the management should look into the benefits that will be attained than the financial amounts to be sunk to make the training a success.
Conclusion
To finalize there is a lot of good to be gained from adopting this project. It will not just benefit individuals the benefits will also trickle down to the firm in the form of increased output and employee motivation and increased expertise.
