Promoting Democracy
The United States of America has continued to interfere with other countries in efforts that are apparently geared towards ensuring democracy. The nation has stomped its superpower authority on states that are politically unstable. It has used various methods that include diplomacy and military interventions as seen in Iraq and Libya. The question thus becomes whether it has any right to do so, and further, whether its involvement leads to the development or enhancement of democracy.
The debate over whether the actions of the US are honest and driven by genuine intentions continues to rage on. The rest of the world might have good things to say about what America does, but the citizens of the countries they invade have nothing but disdain for them. Libya, for instance, might have been under the thumb of a dictator when Muammar Gaddafi was president (Burnett, n.d.). However, since America’s invasion the country’s economy has nosedived, insecurity has increased and the most shocking thing is that slave trade is alive and well. The only reasonable conclusion is that America’s interference made matters worse. Therefore, although the US is a superpower, it should, put simply, mind its own business. Things seem to become worse before they can be better for the affected countries and the locals pay a considerable price. Democracy cannot be enforced or dictated by any other nation, whether militarily or diplomatically.

It beats the purpose of democracy.
In summary, America’s actions might be justified in a variety of situations. However, for the most part, the country does more harm than good by invading seemingly weaker nations. In fact, it might even be argued that they do it for their interests. It should thus refrain from meddling in other nations’ affairs. References
