Introduction

In explicit and implicit racial attitudes, in terms of racial preferences, it is a topic that has generated a lot of interest in authors such as Briñol, Horcajo, Becerra, Falces, Sierra and Peña given the social need to seeracial biases. The relevance of these studies consists of the implicit element of racial preferences, because some societies that declare racial bias, implicitly possess it.

 It is important to analyze this implicit element to discuss this topic. In this way, according to the results obtained in the present study, the evaluation of implicit racial preferences is an objective and rapid measure that allows to be certain of racial trends in racial groups.

In the context of Cali there is a great racial diversity there are 73.3% individuals without ethnic recognition (which includes mestizo and white population), 26.2% of the population resident in Cali is self-recognized as Afro -Colombian, Afro -descendant, black, mulatto,Raizal, Palenquero and 0.5% is recognized as indigenous. 

Black race and the association of these categories with some Valencia (either positive or negative);In the context south of Cali there was a preference for the minority group, that is, Afro -Colombian population. Contrasting with Nosek’s investigation, et al. in which the existence of differences between individuals who have a tendency to prefer the same racial group was found, in this investigation it was found that the racial group of black people is preferred in the majority being a minority being a minority.

Another difference between this investigation and the one shown above is that the preference when responding to the stimuli, since in the present research there is a weak preference in racial groups. These researchers mention the relevance of considering the effort of cognitive control when evaluating racial groups;Because the individual can have a tendency to favor their own group about others as a survival mechanism. When observing this point, a limitation can be identified in the present study due to certainty to evaluate the groups, since some groups can respond automatically without the need for implicit racial preferences. 

Returning to the aforementioned, it is necessary that in future studies the relevant characteristics and irrelevant characteristics on the stimuli sent;Because according to chance citing Nosek ‘the implicit associations are the total sum of daily associations’ so it would not only be enough to take into consideration the results of the TAI test to determine the bias,

As a limitation that was found in this investigation was the fact that there was no thorough control in terms of the socio -ographical conditions (social stratum, place of origin) of the participants;since for your choice only the availability of time to carry out the questionnaires and tests of the investigation was taken into account.

In conclusion, in this research it has been found that racial groups south of Cali have no differences in explicit and implicit preference regarding the racial group of black people and that of white people. So in the racial groups of the study there were no significant differences in the IAT scores. It can be found that there is a preference for black people south of Cali.

 Also the correlations between explicit and implicit attitudes were observed that they were weak so it cannot be said that there is an association between the types of attitudes seen. Based on the above, it would be valuable for future research on the subject deepen more in the relationship between these variables with the IAT effect, extending the study to other inhabitants of the city,
