Reading compression as a tool in education.

Introduction.

Reading understanding is defined as a double process: on the one hand, a process of decoding a written message and on the other, a process of interaction with its previous knowledge. Through reading comprehension, the reader builds, from the previous knowledge, new meanings when interacting with the text. Therefore, the most important thing is the interaction between the reader and the text. The same text read by different people can be interpreted in very different ways.

Developing.

With the use of the puppet as a means of education, it is sought that there is a better effect on reading comprehension, since through this there are different factors such as previous knowledge or experiences of the reader, content, expectations, which are necessary for students to decode The learning that is being transmitted to them.

Levels of reading compression

Compression levels should be understood as the thinking processes that take place in the reading process, which are progressively generated, to the extent that the reader can make use of their previous knowledge. For this it is necessary to know that reading compression has three existing levels:

  • · Literal level
  • · Inferential level
  • · Critical level

Literal level

Literal reading at a primary level. It focuses on the ideas and information that are explicitly presented in the text by recognition or evocation of facts.

Wait! Reading Compression As A Tool In Education. paper is just an example!

That is, the literal level is what is explicitly in the text said by the author in a textual way. At this level, the reader recognizes the phrases and keywords of the text. Captures what the text says without a very active intervention of the cognitive and intellectual structure of the reader.

Inferential level

This level is characterized by scrutinizing and accounting for the network of relationships and associations of meanings that allow the reader to read between the lines, presuppose and deduce the implicit. This level of understanding is very little practiced by the reader, since it requires a considerable degree of abstraction. Favors the relationship with other fields of knowledge and integration of new knowledge in a whole. That is, this level the reader has to deduce the words beyond what author has written and relate it to the previous knowledge or experiences of it and take out their own conclusions of what is read.

Critical level

At this level he is considered the ideal, since in him the reader is able to issue judgments about the text read, accept or reject it, but with arguments. Critical reading has an evaluation character, in which the formation of the reader, its criteria and knowledge of what was read intervenes. Through this level, readers already understand and give validity to what they read and can make a comparison with other sources of information or relationship between them.

conclusion.

Therefore compression as it is currently conceived is a process through which the reader elaborates a meaning in his interaction with the text, the reader relates the information that the author presents with the information stored in his mind this process of relating New information with ancient is the process of understanding.
