Title IX
Name of Student
Name of Institution

Title IX has come a long way, given its successful history in the past. The Title IX of Education Amendments of 1972 aimed at guaranteeing equal pay and non-discriminative actions on individuals based on their gender (Lam, 2018).
The Title IX specialists and North Virginia attorney confirmed that there had been massive sex discrimination in the institution. The University of Tennessee had been a great role model for the past 40 years and the Tennessee Lady Vols was everyone’s favorite example and the Title IX utopian fantasy in women sports (Lam, 2018). The lawsuit proved that the success stories of the Title IX had become a complicated and angry issue.
The lawsuit filed by Collin Schlosser, Moshak, and Heather Mason in the University of Tennessee proved that cases of women discrimination are still prevalent in the present decade. The discrimination case by plaintiffs against the University for Discriminating Women based on the gender won, awarding them $1 million as ordered by the lawyers Lisa Banks and Keith Steward (Lam, 2018). Women in Athletics were discriminated as they had to work for longer hours than men. They received less pay and compensation than other men holding similar positions in the organization. The plaintiff explained that the university created testosterone prohibiting women from receiving equal pay to the men in the organization.
None of the three plaintiffs of the case served at the University of Tennessee.

Schlosser lost his job, leading to the demotion of Mason and Moshak (Lam, 2018). Mason was then fired by the officials, citing that his job performance was unsatisfactory. Moshak resigned from the university, arguing that she could not work with the athletic organization due to their discriminative nature and actions against women.
