The theory of Poststructuralism is one of the critical dominants in the excerpt of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead in the play of Hamlet by William Shakespeare’s. In the play, some of the most common theory of structuralism is foreseen in its characteristic of binary oppositions. The theory of Post Structuralism proposes that there are some words which are frequently used with opposing pairs. The theory of poststructuralism acknowledges the use of words with opposite pairs to add flavor to literature. In that case, the play and the story of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern contain some key instances that show the binary oppositions as one of the critical characteristics of the post-structuralism theory (Stoppard 2013).
In the story, the art of love and hate is a dominant figure that showcases the binary opposition in the play. Hamlet is hated by his cousin who happens to be the king of Denmark. The king plans to have his cousin whom he loves to be assassinated on setting foot in England. The move shows that at the expense of love for his cousin, Hamlet faces rejection and betrayal. The pot to have his Hamlet killed by his cousin, the king of Denmark explains how Hamlet meets rejection and hate from his cousin. All these have been catapulted by love for power and leadership wrangles within the kingdom(Stoppard 2013).
War and peace were also the day-to-day activities in the post-structural world.

Most nations across the world experience a myriad of conflicts and many people were killed and to create peace and order. In the play, some of the lead characters are victims of this. The king of Denmark, King Claudius had sent Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to England. The two were sent to deliver a letter bearing the information that Hamlet, an heir to the throne was to ensure that he is dead on setting foot to England. On the other hand, Hamlet escapes to evade war and have a peaceful coexistence in the kingdom of his cousin, the king. War and peace have been conjoined together to create a binary opposition of events by the developments between Hamlet and the King of Denmark (Stoppard 2013).
Friendship and enmity is also an example of binary opposition, a characteristic of post-structural theory. In the play, the art of friendship between Guildenstern and Rosencrantz are friends who are sent by the King of Denmark to deliver a letter to the King of England. The two friends set on their way and they met Harlem whom they befriend. Unknown to them, Hamlet gets to know the contents of the letter, and he changed them to suit his interest. He changed the contents of the letter to ensure that Guildenstern and Rosencrantz are killed immediately on arriving in England. The enmity between the three friends is manifested when Hamlet, their newfound friend understands the contents of the letter but instead of enlighting the friends, he goes ahead to change the message (Stoppard 2013).
The author uses the main characters to portray and outline some of the critical post-structural theory elements.Shakespeare’s uses the critical characters in the play to show some of the binary opposition characteristics of the theory (Stoppard 2013).
