The following is a program outline of a safety and defense class for students at a local Liberal Arts College. It contains both theoretical and practical components on issues about virtual and physical defense. Among the perils countered include rape, assault, identity theft, robbery among others.
Theoretical Classes
Safety Tips
This entails a series of guidelines and procedures that students should follow when in Campus to ensure their safety as provided by Hoyt (2014). The student coordinator is in charge of enforcing and propagating these tips to ensure that all students, even those outside this self-defense class, shall benefit. The program shall be overseen and evaluated by the resident hall coordinator to facilitate its effectiveness. They include:
Avoid distractions by technological equipment such as cell phones, iPod, and podcasts.
Never take night walks alone. Always walk in groups at night, whether within campus or outside.
Carry a little cash for emergency purposes. Although credit and debit cards are safer to carry, there are instances where they may fail to work, money, therefore, comes in handy, in such cases (Hoyt, 2014).
Familiarize yourself with the campus surrounding. Know landmarks, assembly points among other things.
Never get left behind once your friends depart from a party.
Carry self-defense tools such as pepper spray or a whistle. This will increase the chances of scaring away an offender (Hoyt, 2014).Protection against identity theft and other virtual attacks
According to Forbes author, Detweiler (2011), it is nearly impossible to shield yourself against virtual crimes as there is a lot of information about you floating around.

Wait! Scenario based paper is just an example!

From bank details to social media information, one’s risk increases as technology become more sophisticated. Apart from bullying and stalking, most virtual attackers are after one’s financial well-being. The following is advised:
Carry out your risk assessment. This can mostly be done through institutional financial tools that aim at preventing fraud.
Report the loss of any identification document, to facilitate their closure or at dissociate one from any crime that may result from the use of their lost documents.
Seek expert assistance when you get virtually attacked. The steps that an expert will guide you through include, filing a police report, freezing accounts among others.
Practical Classes
This will entail hands-on self-defense classes against physical attacks such as rape and assault. Studies show that women are at a higher risk of being attacked than men, hence are in more need of self-defense tips (Hosie, 2017). This outline will, therefore, entail Key Krav Maga techniques that are useful to women but can also be applied by male students as provided by tactical defense experts. According to Hosie (2017), Krav Maga, which indicates ‘self-defense’ is meant to horn one’s reflex actions and instincts.
The Openhand strike. Aimed at targeting the vulnerable areas of an attacker.
Kick to the groin. Although most people think that this is an area of weakness for men, women are also vulnerable in the groin region hence attackers can be stopped by a kick to that area (Hosie, 2017).
The 360/Outside defense aims at countering attacks from behind.
Handbag grab/ Aggressive grab. Involves using an attacker’s pull against them.
Attack from the ground. This class shall focus on tips to counter ground attacks. Whether on top, bottom or side of the attacker.
