While focusing on the issues affecting companies such as Atlantis, one ought to take into account the needs of the employees. In your discussion, it seems that you advocate for the fair treatment of employees. I agree with your discussion that Shawn has shown more concern for the workers and is willing to help them get the needed motivation and resources to help the company recover. Your analysis also comes up with different types of leaders such as the affiliate leader and the authoritative leader. I feel that you should have focused on transformation versus transactional leaders. This would have helped you deal with the how the two types of leaders influence the concept of human capital (Bass, 1990). Your discussion also needs to consider the different types of organizational structures and the human capital.

You have identified that the deterioration in the performance results from the lack of coherence between the organizational objectives and the needs of the human resource function. Your discussion comes up with a clear distinction between Shawn and John. I agree that Shawn is a consultative leader since he seeks to ensure the needs of his employees are taken into consideration. John seems to be an autocratic leader who has isolated his employees and seeks the success of the company without consulting them (Bass, 2015).
