The case is about a dilemma faced by Rebecca; torn between acting as advised by John who was an engineer and the marketing manager who was pressuring her to launch the product. Sears was a company dealing in the production of electronic devices; they used to import their products from China. In this scenario, they had introduced a water heater that they were planning to launch. John was an engineer who took upon himself to investigate the product and here he was giving a verdict that the product was not suitable for human use (Professor T., Professor G., 2014). The product had failed some test according to him and that launching the product was wrong. On the other hand, the company had been staggering in making more sales. It was an opportunity for them to scale their purchases by launching the product.
To be in a position to deal with this situation, there are relevant facts that need considerations. First, if indeed the product was not suitable for use and is harmful to use, then it should be left aside. The side of the management it is a chance to shine their light regarding making more sales hence more profits. Therefore, these facts have to be weighed to make a final judgment of which side to follow (Professor T., Professor G., 2014).
A brief SWOT analysis of the Sears Company would entail identifying some of its strengths and weaknesses, then analyze some of its threats and opportunities. Sears Company has its strengths in the fact that they have acquired their product have a well-working team.

Wait! Sears paper is just an example!

The weakness of the company lies in the product; the product is about the fail the company that has heavily invested in the product (Professor T., Professor G., 2014). Threats facing the company is launching the product and then not meeting customer satisfaction, therefore, making the company lose its market. Lastly is on the opportunities that the company has they include, the fact that they rework on the product and then sell it again to get the product in high market demand (Professor T., Professor G., 2014).
In my view, I would recommend that the company recheck the product. There is no need to have a short-lived celebration than the product losses its value. Therefore, the company should investigate about the product the possible reasons for its failure then correct it. After that, they can sell their product that would be loved by the customers.
