Abstract
A healthy community is always reproductive and resourceful. Sick societies have enormous implications for the economies and social stability of the affected communities. Chronic sickness demands complicated care that is often costly. Conditions like obesity, diabetes, cancer, and other terminal illnesses consume large amounts of money in care services. The consequence has been under-budgeting in other areas like infrastructure development and education. As such, prevention of diseases has gained popularity as the best way to address the significant monetary demands of healthcare services. Prevention programs include education and sensitization activities to encourage people to avoid factors that increase their vulnerabilities to common illnesses. The purpose of this paper is to analyze a public health education program intended to promote the health of seniors in Lucas County. The article will begin by exploring the organizational framework of the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD) that aligns with the proposed educational plan. The paper will also develop a corporate approach that synchronizes with the training needs of nurses and addresses the missions, visions, and philosophy of TLCHD.

The institution’s value decrees a belief in the promotion of healthy living via communication, collaboration, health promotion, diseases prevention, empowerment, and focus on people (TLCHD, 2018). Training adults about healthy behaviors requires effective communication and open collaboration. Usually, it is difficult to drag adults along because of the high level of perceived autonomy. As such, the value of the organization will help practitioners to act as facilitators to encourage the collaboration of patients as they guide towards the target goals. This statement means that even as the trainers will be proposing actions to clients, they will ensure an open platform for communication to encourage collaboration and empowerment to ensure that patients make decisions or establish goals they can own and achieve. The intention to prevent disease and focus on people is also essential in the educational program (TLCHD, 2018). The primary goal of the educational program is to prevent infections and improve health conditions among the elderly.
The effectiveness of the educational program requires opening and operationalization of outreach centers in various parts of the county and focus on ethics. Outreach centers located in strategic locations to execute the educational programs will address multiple aspects of the organization (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2016). Having outreach centers will increase accessibility of the elderly in various regions. The increased availability and extension of the program to the localities of patients will satisfy the mission of being a pioneer public health organization determined to encourage and protect the well-being of all people (Haber, 2013). The regional outreach points will also address the philosophy of supporting health creativities to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent injuries and diseases. The agents sent to various centers will interact with the population and learn multiple challenges even those not covered during school training, which will necessitate creativity to address. Ethical awareness will ensure respect for clients’ unique needs and efficient management of diversity issues. Butts and Rich (2013) assert that most of the old people have varied requirements, which demand the exercise of significant care and compliance with ethical regulations to be productive.
