The issue of shifts and working hours has led to a significant shortage of nurses in the health sector. It is an indication of the workload that is evident in most hospitals across the United States. The workload has led to many nurses to leave their jobs and seek alternative careers. The issue of pay has also been identified as another factor that has led to the shortage of nurse in the United States. The pay structure of some hospitals can be considered low, which has resulted in nurses seeking alternative jobs for better wages. Lack of advanced technology is some of the hospitals is another issue that has caused the shortage of nurses.
Analyzing the Solutions
Developing public and private partnerships is one of the solutions that can curb the shortage of nurses in the United States. It is a strategy that includes the increase of resources to facilitate services in the health sector. Due to high demand for nurses in the health sector, it is necessary for both the private and public sector to increase funding to allow for more hiring. The funding should also be increased in many learning institutions to increase the number of classes and tutors due to the high demand.

Public funding will be significant because it will seal loopholes between the demand and supply in the health sector.
Using technology as a training tool would also help to solve the shortage of nurses in the United States. Even though many learning institutions do a good job in ensuring that students learn and gain the upper knowledge in nursing, it is necessary that the learning institutions use the current advanced technology to facilitate their teaching experience. The internet would be the ideal technology for the learning institutions to use in their strategic teaching of students. It would enable the institutions to teach students that are in far destinations as well.

The background of the issue is a significant factor in the situational analysis of the problem. The background of the issue depends on the cultural, ethical and historical factors. The context of the issue will help in identifying the necessary solution at hand (Smith, 2011). Numerous questions can help one when trying to understand the background of the issue. A good example can occur when the nurses in a particular hospital confide in the stakeholders regarding workload or staffing issues. In some instances, an individual can assist the stakeholders to identify the relationship between the problem and interests. Some parties can act as the stakeholders when it comes to some issues such as staff ratios in a hospital.
