For safety and equality within the school compound, institution’s administers should ensure that every pupil within the compound of the facility is in school uniform. One of the surest ways of addressing the issue of safety within the confines of a school is through wearing school outfits since the attire encourages neatness and avoids dressing culture associated with violence. The connotation of uniforms with equality within the school compound creates a feeling that all the students are the same regardless of their background and that a school is a place for learning and not for show off with different expensive dresses daily. In an attempt to support the mentioned argument on school uniforms in our public schools, the paper discusses the following points (Gereluk, 2007).
Learning environment for students becomes safer if they are in school uniform. According to Alexander and Alexander (2011), both the school administrators and parents support the idea of putting on school clothes so as to boost a learning environment that is conducive for all students. Uniforms avoid learning distraction from how someone looks which allows the pupils to spend more time concentrating on classwork other than dressing. At that younger age, the students might fall for peer pressure related to the latest trends and styles o wear to school, which might in the long run result to poor concentration in class.

School outfits avoid such unnecessary pressure hence boosting an ambient of learning equally for all.
A study carried out in England on the importance of school uniforms (Gereluk, 2007), point out that school attires limit gang identification within the institution. When uniforms reduce the chances of identifying with a particular clique of students, the likelihood of violence and bullying will tremendously reduce. Violence and intimidation within the school compound create an environment that hinders learning and development of the victims psychologically and academically. Even though the school authority might limit the pupils on what to wear to school, they will still choose a particular kind of cloth to make them stand out among others, i.e. belt, shoes among others.
The next advantage of putting on school uniform is that the attire creates a leveled playing ground for all the students within the same institution. According to a report by Brunsma and Rockquemore (2003), when students are in uniform clothing, the teasing of colleagues who are in out of fashion clothes and those with less expensive outfits is easily avoidable. When students evade such teasing, they cut on a significant percentage of peer pressure from fellow pupils which is beneficial for learning.
A school uniform boosts a sense of unity, pride and community spirit within the students’ body. Following a study by Allensworth and Evans (2016), it found out that a kind of pride and thrill comes with putting on proper school attire. Following peer-reviewed articles, the students who might be facing trouble within a given institution as far as learning or social pressure is concerned might feel a sense of belonging with the others once they are in school outfit. A teacher interviewed within the institutions which adopted formal school outfit pointed out n increase in the level of care, respect and trust within the student body.
In conclusion, contributions of putting on school uniforms to schools are immense as supported by the discussed points. Public learning institutions should adopt uniforms outfits to enjoy the effects of putting on such attire. Psychological research is in support of suitable institute attire since the benefits on a student tend to be great.
