The current society is experiencing so much confusion due to many social evils which have led to a loss of moral compass. The reason for the loss of moral compass is due to lack of integrity, and selfishness which has led to the manipulation of people’s ways leading to their success regardless of the damage that they leave behind. On the other hand, such people surround us, and they have impacted society leading to the moral degradation of a significant part of society. Vices affect many people in society and the environment at large. Poverty, gambling, war, and impurity are among the social evils that trouble the world today which indicate that the world has lost its moral compass. Individualism, the decline in community and family values, greed, and consumerism can be attributed as the leading cause of the decline in moral compass. Moral compass has a significant relationship with ethics since it involves a sense of feeling of what is right or wrong.
Ethics and moral compass are used interchangeably due to their great similarities. Ethics refers to codes of conduct in various settings while the moral compass is an individual’s principles that determine what is wrong and right (Denial 15). As such, moral compass guides someone regarding what is right and wrong and directs people to move in certain directions. As such, the relationship between a person’s ethical standard is concurrence between the actions that guide the moral compass regarding what a society terms as right or wrong.

Additionally, moral compass guides someone when faced with an ethical dilemma. On a larger scale, ethics is usually the same that refers to the rules set by the society relating to what is right and wrong. As such, perfect alignment of moral compass and ethics leads to a smooth life while the contrary produces questionable results of someone’s actions in the society.
