According to World Health Organization, a new disease refers to a previously unknown infection caused by an agent such as a virus or bacterium (WHO, 2016). Thus, to constitute an outbreak, the disease must occur in a higher number than expected during a particular season or within a defined geographical area or community. An outbreak can last from days to years and may cover only a designated geographic area or extend to other regions and even countries. This paper, therefore, seeks to discuss a new disease outbreak and other related issues.
Possible Reasons for a Sudden Outbreak of a New Disease
Even though new diseases outbreaks have declined especially in industrialized societies in the past few decades, some parts of the world are still experiencing outbreaks. Reasons for the uptick in infectious diseases in some part of the world are as discussed. One, various geographical locations have experienced epidemics due to an increased rate of travels, trade, and connectivity. These factors enhance the spread of various deadly plagues due to increased interaction with individuals from different regions. Also, the outbreaks are intensified by the present day urbanization. Due to urbanization, people are more likely to live in urban areas which are densely populated. Such unhealthy environments form suitable breeding grounds for diseases.
Possible Solutions
To address issues of new and virulent contagious diseases, the government and other organizations should seek to create public awareness.

Wait! Strategic paper is just an example!

Awareness will aim at cautioning people and make them take preventive measures. Also, individuals should be advised on best possible actions to take in case they begin seeing specific signs and symptoms.
Past Data
In the recent past, the countries that have experienced disease outbreaks include Japan, which suffered during the outbreak of measles in 2018. In the same year, there were outbreaks of Cholera, Rift Valley Fever and Ebola virus disease in Cameroon, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The possible reasons for such outbreaks are increased number of travels or living in unhygienic densely populated areas.
In conclusion, from the above discussion, it is apparent that in as much as new disease outbreaks have reduced in the recent past especially in industrialized societies, there are still few outbreaks in some parts of the world. As such, individuals ought to be cautious in whatever they do lest they risk contracting infectious diseases.
