Supply chain management professional deals with a variety of products in various enterprises. In order to carry different activities in the enterprise, supply chain professionals require numerous tools that can enable them to do effectively (Christopher, 2016). Some of the most commonly available tools are inventories and flight handling software. Such tools help in increasing the efficiency of purchasing materials as well as handling the suppliers that are coming in (Seuring & Müller, 2008).
Certification programs for supply chain management
Certification programs for supply chain management are programs that help the supply chain management professionals to demonstrate the knowledge and skills that they have so that they can develop operations that are more streamlined. Some of the certifications include APICS which stands for Certified Supply Chain Professional certification. The others include APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), APICS Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR-P) Endorsement and ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management.
How to use the newly gained knowledge to grow personally and professionally within the industry
After attaining the new knowledge on the supply chain, there are numerous issues that I can do in life. Apart from being a supply chain manager, I can be an industry analyst who understands the business operations and helps a company in case of any challenge.

In addition, one can be a transportation director. Supply chain management field is broad as it involves Supply Chain Sales. I can also become a consultant in the field of supply chain and procurement analysis within the supply chain sector.

The site that surprised me the most is the Institute for Supply Chain Management: www.instituteforsupplymanagement.org (ISM, 2018). It contains a lot of information that is related to supply chain management which is rare to find in other websites. It contains issue of management across various platforms and organization.
