Swan Lake; ballet by Kirov Theater.
Watching the production by Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake performed by the Ballet of the Kirov Theatre, located in St. Petersburg was not only entertaining but also incredible. Odile and Yelena Yevteyeva’s Odette managed to capture perfectly the black and white of the two personalities. From the first time she entered the stage, to her last moments, she was wonderful. She is Odile; she is Odette (Croissant et al. 241).
On the other hand, the dancers were all perfect; they were able to perform unbelievably intricate maneuvers with grace while maintaining a smile on their faces. One could never hear a sigh or see a grimace while watching this performance even when they took on unfathomable challenges. Even the partnership and collaboration between the dancers was flawless. They were delightful to the whole audience. The dancer’s costumes swirled, swished and clung, highlighting the magnificent bodies of the ballet dancers while revealing their emotional core (Croissant et al. 243). It was impossible for one not to be awed by the mastery at which the dancers performed; they showed victory over the human body. From the way the dancers performed the pirouette to the adagio, they were able to control their bodies to execute these moves flawlessly. The ballet dancers seemed not to care about the laws of gravity as they floated through the air in slow, long leaps. The dancers were able to keep perfect balance while performing countless spins.

Wait! Swan lake ballet by Kirov Theater, Leningrad paper is just an example!

At times, their feet would move so rapidly that one’s eye could hardly follow the movements. It was also intriguing how the male ballet dancers lifted the women dancers up high as if they were as light as feathers. The music accompaniment was also everything one could wish for; the chorus work was superb especially in the Spanish dance. Truly, Swan’s Lake’s performance by Kirov’s Theatre ballet dancers was nothing short of a work of art.
