Virtual Reality Technology
It is evident that people were born naturally to fulfill the curiosity that people contain in their minds. That is the primary reason why, wherever people go, they are likely to see different inventions, and they come in various brands that people are made to select. Technology has been experienced since the first man used chipped stone blades to help him hunt. Yet most people see the current age as the technological age since the modern man has relied on technology at everything they are doing. Today, young children at the age of six years can operate computers and other digital devices such as PSP and the online games. Technology is among the principal driving forces of the world future; it has and will always keep shaping the current and future of man at a rate that is unprecedented in history. The mode of communication between human beings transformed from smoke signals to the use of land lines, where people would call other people using the land line telephones and the use of radio to spread the news to a large group of individuals. However, the advancement of technology led to the emergence of cell/mobile phones, which have been embraced by almost every person in the world. With the current widespread use of digital devices, Social media was introduced, and it has taken over the entire world (North & North, 17).
Social media is the primary form of communication today with every information related to different fields being shared on social media.

It has changed the way people communicate and how businesses are conducted. However, the future of technological advancement seems to be ravishing with the introduction of smart cars, space tourism, and virtual reality or artificial intelligence. Virtual reality is set to make some earth-shattering changes in the manner in which people live and interact with each other. The technology is likely to alter the landscape of many industries from the health care sector, education, military, fashion, entertainment, and business. This brings us to an assumption that Virtual reality technology involves presenting, a person’s senses with a computer generated the virtual environment, which he or she can explore in his or her chosen fashion. The emergence of the Virtual social network has enabled people to go out and meet new people, form bonds and network with different entrepreneurs without having a physical contact with them. Although the internet has afforded humans such kind of an opportunity, the virtual network allows one to do so in his or her virtual self. The internet’s form of impersonalization of a screen-to-screen interaction does not have that level of an impact that an almost real-virtual face interaction does. Virtual social networks allow people to meet and talk in a seemingly real environment, without any of them leaving their rooms. As per the stories, it is evident that “virtual reality technology is an appropriate solution to people with a weak personal identity.”
Virtual reality technology has many potential benefits for different aspects of rehabilitation, research, assessment, and treatment of patients with psychological problems such as depression and anxiety (North & North, 41). Through its ability to offer room for the creation and control of a powerful 3D, ecologically sound stimulus environments within which behavioral responding can be measured and recorded, the virtual reality technology offers a clinical assessment and options for rehabilitation that did not feature in the traditional methods. The initial virtual reality technology applications in psychology brought good results, but the continued research and understanding of advanced systems has been very crucial due to an efficient integration into most of the rehabilitation strategies.
The advancement in the Virtual reality technology has enabled the introduction of varying levels and combinations of multimodal sensory inputs that allow motion, audio, olfactory and haptic to be simultaneously experienced to the graphically rendered object (North & North, 49). The user’s sense of immersion in the generated environment is increased thus allowing the experimenter to come up with protocols that could not have been possible. For example, using exposure therapy is a standard treatment for anxiety victims, which in the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder case may not be easy to implement for safety or certain reasons. To overcome such issues, the multimodal virtual reality system is used to come up with warzone replica, complete with haptic feedback and audio channel to control Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in war veterans. Moreover, it is evident that before Richard was introduced to the virtual reality system, he was suffering internally without anyone knowing what he thought about his wife Lina and his son Seth. However, with the acquisition of the Virtual system, he takes the step of deleting them from the system without further thoughts about them. In the two sceneries, it is evident that the phenomena are known to be occurring as a result of a confluence of the sensory information; hence, the multimodal virtual reality system enables the researcher to modify the inputs separately so as to understand the relative contribution of each input accurately (North & North, 50).
Richard is considered as a man disenchanted by his disrespectful teenage son, Seth, his tyrannical wife and his entire life. He is subjected to a stressful life that he admires Jonathan and would like that he would be his son rather than Seth. While testing the word processor, Richard’s son returns home with a group of obnoxious band members. Seth is heard badmouthing his father, Richard, who is prompted to delete Seth’s existence from his family. However, he also deletes his wife Lina from the system the moment she vocally abused him. With the word processor’s power deteriorating, he decides to impulsively rewrite his family, making his nephew, Jonathan, his own son and makes Belinda, his wife. This incident is also reflected in the veldt story where the Hadley children have replaced their parents with the technological room that they have become addicted to it. George’s reflection that his children have been spending too much time in the veldt raises the notion that Peter and Wendy are addicted to the technology. This makes George think that the nursery is dangerous for the children and children are given much power with fewer responsibilities. Moreover, he sees the veldt as a tool used by his children to express their darkest thoughts, which they are likely to lead them towards actual violence. In this case, virtual reality network has been used by the characters to redefine their lives to what they want, and these modifications in the Virtual reality system can be used by a researcher to analyze these victims and know the treatment and procedure of helping them.
With the advancement in the virtual systems, victims such as the Hadley children and Richard can access psychological treatment since the system stores the information modification, thus providing a clear view of what is going on in their minds. Richard is subjected to exposure therapy, where he can create his type of family and correct those moments in life that he thinks he had made his greatest mistakes. On the other hand, Peter and Wendy are seen to be more attached to a technological room within their house to the extent that they do not interact with their parents as any other normal family. However, the suspicions of a serious psychological problem by their parents are proven right by a psychologist who uses the Virtual reality system to analyze the thoughts of the two children and suggest that they undergo psychological treatment. These two incidences about Richard and the Hardley family provide evidence that virtual reality systems are destined to help many people with weak personal identities and enable them to lead normal lives free from stress.
