The 1984 book, political novel

 

The book "1984" is a political novel of dystopian fiction. It was written by Erik Arthur Blair, better known as George Orwell in 1948. He tells us the story of Winston Smith, a worker from the Ministry of Truth.

First part

The 1984 world is divided into three superpowers: Oceania, Eurasia and Asia Oriental. Oceania is governed by the party, which is divided in turn into the interior and exterior party. The rest, and most of the population corresponds to the proletariat, which are totally marginalized.

The government exercises continuous surveillance to its citizens and punishes or makes those who do not share their ideologies disappear. The head of this party is the "older brother", whom everyone must worship and serve.

The protagonist Winston Smith is a member of the External Party, who works at the Ministry of Truth, correcting and rewriting articles in order to cover the party scams. Winston begins to write a newspaper outside the view of the view of the telepallas, which finally recognizes being writing it for O’Brien, a member of the interior party, with whom he believes to have a special connection, because he thought he shared the same ideologies as him.

Second part

One day Winston meets Julia, when this passes a note declaring himself. They planned their first meeting in secret, since relationships or sexual relations for pure pleasure were not allowed, but to generate children.

Brain washing ends his free thought, freedom and sexual desire, setting his only admiration and loyalty to the party and the older brother.
