The concept of epistemology and its different approaches

In 1864 the publication of an article was made which was the first to expose the word epistemology by James Frederick Ferrier entitled “Institute of Metaphysics: Theory of Knowing and Being” and included in the book “Lectures on Greek Philosophy. Edited Works of Professor Wilson ”. Ferrier divides philosophy into epistemology and ontology with their respective Greek compounds, the curious thing about this is that "episteme" took the definition of reliable knowledge, that is why it will later have a particular type of knowledge which will have a high influence regarding socializations,Theoretical systematization and foundation are these 3 characteristics that allow us to identify scientific knowledge. What emphasizes us dr. José Padrón Guillen is that epistemology has an origin in searchdifferent authors and currents who take the step of looking for an answer (Guillen, 2014).

Epistemology from different approaches

As we read in the previous paragraph there are individuals with a different vision that is why there are varied perspectives which can be taken by those who identify with them.

There are those who have an almost "romantic" or voluntary conception, to call it in an illustrative way, that sees that discipline as a space for the expression of "I" for the free and spontaneous expression of one’s attitudes against the world, for rebellionin the face of the impositions of scientific standards, etc.

Wait! The Concept Of Epistemology And Its Different Approaches paper is just an example!

and that are usually expressed in verbally powerful and flowery language, very oriented to attitudes and the sphere of individual consciousness. We could say that it is the epistemological conception centered on the subject. (Guillen, 2014, P.two)

It is by this definition that we can be able to relate it to the necessary empathy towards us and others and thus develop reflection and interaction, reality is related to our own consciousness is for this reason that we are less deceived to the senses or thereason.

Another approach that we can find lies in the controlled observation towards reality is capable of detecting irregularities and therefore is not deceived by factors such as the senses or reason. There are, on the other hand, those who have an almost "arithmetic ‘or sensorealist conception, which sees that discipline as a space for the analysis of the radiographs that are made to the world, for the details of reality, for the exercise ofthe functions of sensory and instrumental collection of things, etc., and that are usually expressed with a concise, brief and numerical language, very oriented to the observational records and the sphere of the senses and their most efficient instrumental extensions. You could say that it is an epistemological conception oriented towards the object. (Guillen, 2014, P.23)

The key words for this type of approach that are able to express this point of view are observation, facts and law, as we can read are terms related to a type of order.

In the last place we have a functional approach that is aimed at particular implements on us.

And there are others, finally, that have an almost “brain’ or plot conception, which sees that discipline as a space for the identification of underlying, schematic forms and structures, which function as universal responsible for all the particular things that occur in the world. While these particular things are seen as irrelevant and episodic, instead their underlying forms and structures are the only interesting thing to form a reliable image of reality. They usually express themselves with logical-cerebral, precise and argued language, very oriented to pre-existing formal systems for the management of ideas and concepts. It could be said that it is an epistemological conception focused on the technical references of thought, in intersubjective mental structures. (Guillen, 2014, P.3)

Those words that are related to this conception are thinking, reasoning, or hypothesis therefore has to do with collective structures that identifies a complete image.

Implicit concepts in the notion of epistemology

By understanding the corresponding definition of what epistemology is (study of scientific knowledge) we can realize that those words are general encompass more than one idea itself and we must be able to investigate in depth, that is, let’s take these words into account separately:"Study" is the effort to understand an exposed topic so the consistent is to assume an epistemology range, "knowledge" by understanding something through reason, a type of specialization of epistemology and "scientific" must be carried outscience that covers several types of knowledge. Clarifying and defining how we should identify your organization is essential that is why epistemology will be taken as a branch of philosophy, a reflection and even a theory that as such is not physical in its entirety because it has a mental nature, it is representative for aIndividual or a group of people, is not shown outside the being, rather creates connections, as it is scientific knowledge, their respective context must be analyzed and three fundamental characteristics, systematized, theoretical and socialized foundation (Guillen, 2014) must be very present.

Interdisciplinary relationships (epistemology and close notions)

In general, and at first glance, epistemology is related to any other discipline that studies knowledge is thus one of the most famous disciplines is the sociology of science which focuses on how the scientific community is socially organized. From this, relativistic, subjectivist and most recent positions have emerged have been currents of postmodernism and idealistic constructivism between these different positions there has been conflict after conflict after conflict.

A problem that arises is the difficulty that epistemology is able to carry out its studies as science, so epistemology should have meta-operations, therefore it is established that logic and mathematics should be the basic metalanguage of theepistemology. From another approach, epistemology maintains important connections with cognitive psychology with the philosophy of the mind, with evolutionary biology and genetics and, in a special way, with the philosophy of language and linguistics (Guillen, 2014).
