The Current Debates in Education
In America, public education has been one of the most critical issues since 1983.A reform movement led by Horace Mann won widespread support for the need to make education available for all the children in America. Reformers always believed that Education would, in the long run, help children to become good citizens and thus able to escape poverty. The system of public education was created with two main purposes; prepare the youths for success in careers also to provide skills and knowledge so as to be engaged and informed citizens. The reforms helped correct inequality and discrimination in American education.
In recent decades, the debate over improvement of public education has highly received attention in the USA. Idea reforms have been directed to charter school experimentation, teacher reforms and charter education with addition of addressing non-school factors. Charter schools have recorded fast rate of growth in American education. They are funded by public funds, however, managed by private groups. The charter proponents are to offer the school choices that will allow parents to decide on a better public school in performance than the alternative school that they may have assigned. On teacher reforms, questions on training, evaluation, tenure and better educators has been on board. However, some reforms are found advocating against each other a factor that has devised debate on education policy.

Other charters are based on the education system and non-related education factors as highlighted below.
Different groups have taken different pulse on charters and choice, where one group lobby for improving existing public schools, others emphasizes expansion of charter schools. Common core has moved into the classroom, which draws standards closer, and debate has emerged if local communities are likely to lose much control over these schools. Also, enrollment declines and low performance have been on the spot. Several educators and parents have a stand of schools need more resources rather than the districts dramatic remarking and districts closing schools as a solution to this. Teacher evaluation has been on the hot spot as the debate is rotating around if evaluation should be based on the performance of student should reflect on how much a teacher should take home. Finally, schools are in active adopting and exploring digital education; however, there is fear that teaching fraternity may be replaced by technological companies that might hold much sway.
Many stakeholders are involved in different advocacy of streamlining public education in the USA, and the future success of public schools lies in their work. Both key players’ interests and opinions should be harmonized to have a balanced stand that will foster the performance and efficiency system of public schools in the future.
