Abstract
In this era of computing and internet communication, many museums have adopted the use of the website and digital marketing to increase their presence all over the world. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, or simply called the Guggenheim, is an art museum in New York City. Started in 1939 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the initial purpose of the museum was to collect non-objective painting pieces of artwork. The museum has grown over the years to become a well-known destination for artists and art enthusiasts. The museum ranks among the best 100 in the world. In 2013, it ranked 51st best museum in the world. The museum has an elaborate website hosted at https://www.guggenheim.org/ whereby most of its collections are displayed for interested parties from the different regions in the world. This paper is an analysis of the general appearance of the website and the personal perception of its usability and representation of the physical museum located in New York.
Overview of the Guggenheim Museum
I visited the official Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on the website on January 27, 2018. The website, identified online as the Guggenheim Museum is in New York City (Guggenheim, 2017). This paper gives a description of my experience during my online visit.
Generally, the navigation through the website is easy even for new users. It features a simple navigation bar located at the left side of the screen, making it simple to identify the various sections easily.

Wait! the guggenheim paper is just an example!

The main objects in this section contain the Visit, Art and Engage options. These options aid the online visitor to learn more about the actual museum, explore the various galleries and participate in the discussions about the museum using the various digital platforms respectively. Some of the works that are the subject of the museum include the Thannhauser Collection, Panza collection, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim founding collection among many others.
In my opinion, the Guggenheim Museum is a place I would like to visit in the future. The museum contains collections from the modern and contemporary artwork. This is because I am specifically interested in learning the aspect of “nonobjective art” (Guggenheim, 2017) as expressed in the Solomon R. Guggenheim founding collection. I would recommend art enthusiasts to visit the museum because of the exceptional works available in their collections. The seamless abstraction of various features of life and the world, in general, is not only fascinating to me but also an expression of exceptional talent and detail.
The About page in the navigation bar, precisely the ‘About the Collection’ page was quite interesting to me because it offers a detailed overview of each collection and its significance to the museum. In addition to the history surrounding a given collection, this page provides information about the specific artist responsible for creating the specific pieces of work and attempts to explain their various perspectives on the various constructs at the time of these works.
