The dance as a form of art and audio from instruments welcome Christmas Eve. Christmas tree is decorated with candles by the community as they gather for the celebrations. The participants in the celebration are amazed, and they dance near the Christmas tree. The children are given gifts, and even a mysterious figure presents him and he looks like a magician. The gifts include four dolls that they dance with them in their hands as a sign of happiness. The two girls are very disappointed when dolls that they treasured were taken away. A wooden carving is presented but only one the girls is willing to take it, and the doll has a shape of a man. The curving is broken, and this disappoints the girl who had taken it. The girls wake up at night to look for her wooden carving and suddenly, pests get into the room and begin to feast on soldiers. The wounded soldiers are carried away by nurses.
The characters in the story include Dr. Stahlbaum, Drosselmeyer, doll, mouse king, mice and Nutcracker. The different colors have been used ranging from black to signify night to white clothing. Mime has extensively been used to signify happiness in the Christmas occasion as gifts are being presented. Lighting techniques have been extensively used to embellish the Christmas tree. The most recognizable attributes include the makeups on the face of performers, the use of dolls and sword like stuff during the dancing session. The background music played by the instruments guides the performance as the performers dance to its tone.
